Bac Lieu receives 42 billion VND to eliminate temporary and leaky houses from the Ministry of Public Security

Attending the ceremony were Secretary of Bac Lieu Provincial Party Committee Lu Van Hung; Colonel Nguyen Hong Nguyen, Deputy Chief of Office of the Ministry of Public Security; leaders of the People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, departments, branches, unions, religious organizations and local leaders.

According to Colonel Nguyen Hong Nguyen, with the spirit of not leaving anyone behind and being a pioneer in implementing the emulation movement of the whole country joining hands to "eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses", in recent years, the Ministry of Public Security has chaired, mobilized and coordinated with localities to build nearly 18,200 houses, schools and colleges with a budget of 780 billion VND.

In 2024 alone, the Ministry of Public Security mobilized resources to build, renovate, and repair more than 3,000 houses, with a total cost of more than 150 billion VND. Since the beginning of 2025, the Ministry has donated 362 billion VND to support the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in Cao Bang, Gia Lai, and Kon Tum provinces. In Bac Lieu alone, the Ministry of Public Security supported 700 houses with a total amount of 42 billion VND, all of which were sponsored by T&T Group and SHB Bank.

The Deputy Chief of the Office of the Ministry of Public Security emphasized that after handing over the funds and presenting 2 model houses to households, the construction of the remaining houses will be quickly implemented. Therefore, the Bac Lieu Provincial Police will increase the force to support people in the process of building houses; ensure the construction progress on the principle of fast, neat, and economical. Strive to complete the remaining 698 houses before May 19, 2025, on the occasion of the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday.

On behalf of the leaders of Bac Lieu province, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province Tran Van Ut, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee for the implementation of the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the province, expressed his gratitude to the Standing Committee of the Central Public Security Party Committee, as well as the "Generous Benefactors" who have paid attention to mobilizing support for building houses for poor and near-poor households facing housing difficulties in the province; hoping that Bac Lieu province will continue to receive more support from the Ministry of Public Security and sponsors to implement the livelihood program for households, so that disadvantaged households can "settle down and make a living", thereby helping the province's poverty reduction and social security work to be carried out well. This is a meaningful and humane work, promoting the tradition of mutual love, building and consolidating the great national unity bloc.

At the ceremony, representatives of the Ministry of Public Security and sponsors presented funding for housing construction to Bac Lieu province; the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province received and allocated funding to localities according to the surveyed list.

On this occasion, the Deputy Chief of the Office of the Ministry of Public Security presented gifts from the Minister of Public Security to 20 poor and near-poor households facing housing difficulties; the Provincial Party Secretary and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee presented gifts to 20 poor and near-poor households facing housing difficulties in the province; and at the same time, organized health check-ups, consultations, and free medicine distribution for people attending the ceremony.
