Bac Lieu visits Ho Chi Minh City on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day

(BL-NQ) On April 18 and 19, 2025, a delegation of officials and meritorious people from Bac Lieu province visited Ho Chi Minh City to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

The delegation of Bac Lieu province is led by comrade Nguyen Huy Thai - Provincial Party Committee member, Deputy Head of the National Assembly Delegation.

In addition to cadres from agencies, units, and armed forces officers, the delegation also included 9 delegates who directly participated in the great victory of Spring 1975, such as: Mr. Nguyen Thai Hao - Member of the Liberation Front of Bac Lieu province; Mr. Huynh Cong Danh - Special Forces Team of Bac Lieu Town; Ms. Huynh Thanh Hoa - a resistance activist who was captured and imprisoned by the enemy; Mr. Nguyen Tich Thien - Captain of the Special Forces Team of Bac Lieu town; Mr. Nguyen Thai Dien - Lieutenant, former Deputy Captain of Vinh Loi District Team...

During the 2 days, 35 delegates from Bac Lieu province visited the Independence Palace, the War Remnants Museum, the Ho Chi Minh Museum - Ho Chi Minh City branch (Ben Nha Rong), the Cho Quan Hospital Prison (where comrade Tran Phu - the first General Secretary of the Party was detained and sacrificed), and experienced metro line 1 Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien.

At the special national relic Ben Nha Rong - where the patriotic young man Nguyen Tat Thanh left to find a way to save the country, on behalf of the provincial delegation, comrade Nguyen Huy Thai emotionally wrote in the guest book: “The delegation of Bac Lieu province came to the city named after Uncle Ho. Respectfully burn incense, sincerely commemorate. From this city, he left…! Exactly 50 years “as if Uncle Ho was there on the day of great victory”. I would like to engrave my gratitude to him! I respectfully hope that Uncle Ho will bless the country to strongly rise up into the new era!”.

This meaningful visit is not only an opportunity for the delegation to review the nation's glorious historical traditions and pay tribute to previous generations, but also an opportunity to witness the remarkable changes and development of Ho Chi Minh City after 50 years of unification, thereby further strengthening national confidence and pride.
