The area of lychee produced according to VietGAP standards is 16 thousand hectares, the area of lychee produced according to GlobalGAP standards is over 200 hectares. In addition, the province is implementing a 10-hectare organic lychee production model in Luc Ngan district.
Activities related to lychee, from planting, caring, harvesting, promoting, and consuming the product, are of special interest to all levels of government, departments, and branches of the province. The province and localities support farmers in caring techniques, managing growing area codes, packaging facilities, ensuring traffic safety, etc. so that lychee can be consumed smoothly.
Mr. Paul Le said. |
Speaking here, Mr. Paul Le highly appreciated the province's continuous improvement of lychee production process in recent years. Mr. Paul Le affirmed that Bac Giang lychee is of high quality, especially fragrant and delicious, so it is very popular in the European, American and Southeast Asian markets. Therefore, the Group always wants to have a long-term relationship with Bac Giang farmers to expand the market, bringing lychee further.
To achieve this, Mr. Paul Le suggested that the province and lychee growers both improve quality and focus on building a sustainable brand for lychees. Bac Giang needs to innovate packaging designs, product labels and apply modern preservation processes to keep lychees longer and bring them further.
A representative of the GO! Supermarket system under the Central Retail Group in Vietnam suggested that Bac Giang increase deep processing and develop many types of products related to lychee. Apply advanced preservation techniques so that consumers can use lychee all year round, not just during the fruit ripening season.
In addition, the province needs to research and support agricultural production cooperatives such as raising Yen The hill chickens, producing clean vegetables, etc. to improve the quality of preserving protein products so that Central Retail Group can bring these agricultural products into the GO! supermarket system for consumption.
Speaking at the meeting, comrade Pham Van Thinh said that in addition to improving quality, to facilitate the consumption of lychees and other agricultural products, Bac Giang has a policy of diversifying domestic and foreign markets. In the coming time, Bac Giang will continue to direct competent authorities and localities in lychee growing areas to simplify administrative procedures, commit to creating the most favorable conditions for domestic and foreign enterprises and traders to purchase and consume lychees; ensure good preparation of conditions, materials, and auxiliary services to serve the production, processing, and consumption of lychees.
He shared that Bac Giang province is developing comprehensively and dynamically, always being among the leading localities in the country in terms of GRDP growth rate. From now until 2030, the province will focus on developing commercial centers in urban areas such as cities and towns. The planning and space for commercial development of the province is very potential, especially after the merger of Bac Giang and Bac Ninh provinces.
Leaders of Central Retail Group in Vietnam presented a congratulatory flower basket with the words "Wishing farmers in Bac Giang province a bountiful harvest!" |
In the coming time, Bac Giang will build a logistics system to meet the increasing demand for goods transportation. In particular, the province wants businesses, including Central Retail Group, to invest in logistics centers in Bac Giang. In addition, Bac Giang is interested in developing wholesale agricultural markets.
He hopes that with the sharp thinking in commercial and service activities, Central Retail Group will advise and help Bac Giang develop the retail market in a modern and convenient direction, meeting the increasing needs of the people.
Comrade Pham Van Thinh requested the Department of Industry and Trade to plan to participate in the fruit fair in My Tho (Can Tho) next May to promote lychee products and other agricultural products, and the unique cultural features of Bac Giang to consumers and friends everywhere.
The province will introduce cooperatives and businesses in the area to coordinate to meet the demand for cold storage of Central Retail Group in preserving lychees and other agricultural products; support cooperatives in designing new and printing packaging for lychees and other OCOP agricultural products to attract buyers. The goal is to bring lychees to the international market, increase the value of lychees and increase farmers' income.
