On the morning of April 23, Nhan Dan Newspaper organized an interactive exhibition to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025). The exhibition integrates 3 main technologies including: Light projection (3D mapping), augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR).
3D mapping projection
In the field tent area, 3D mapping technology will be used for the first time to project the campaign vertically on Nhan Dan Newspaper. This technology aims to recreate part of the Ho Chi Minh Campaign with the milestone of capturing the Independence Palace.
The total experience lasts 6 minutes, including many simulated images and vivid sounds.

It is expected that this mobile model will be brought to schools so that students can experience history lessons. Also on the morning of April 23, a group of students from class 4G of Trang An Primary School visited the exhibition. They shared: "The projection in the tent is my favorite area. I have never learned history like this before."

Augmented Reality Technology
Also on this Nhan Dan printed newspaper, readers can scan 4 QR codes to watch dynamic videos on a static plane with AR technology. These 4 QR codes correspond to 4 important moments in the Ho Chi Minh Campaign, including the image of our army's tanks crashing into the gate of the Independence Palace.

To experience this, readers need to install the Tiktok application on their mobile devices and follow these 2 steps:
- Step 1: Scan the QR code to download each filter
- Step 2: Scan the corresponding image to experience
There were many “wows” from young people at this special supplementary exhibition area. “My AR experience was very smooth, no distortion, no lag. The excitement of this technology has made historical events much less dry for young people. For me, this exhibition of Nhan Dan Newspaper is very neat and creative” - said Nguyen Nam Khanh, Diplomatic Academy.

Previously on May 7, Nhan Dan Newspaper used this technology in its panorama supplement and interactive exhibition of the Dien Bien Phu Campaign.
This event caused a "fever" among young people, reaffirming the position, role and innovations of print newspapers in the reception of the public, especially young readers.
Virtual reality technology
In the “Decisive Battles” area, viewers can scan a QR code to access the online version and interactive sandboxes corresponding to each battle.

Visitors experience VR in the Decisive Battles area. |
The “StoryMap” application with VR touchpoints allows viewers to visit online the sites that marked heroic feats. Thanks to this technology, a person who has never been to the Independence Palace or is sitting on the other side of the world can also experience the space and structure of the building visually.

Australian visitor Patrick Griffith said: “This is the first time I have experienced such a historical exhibition combined with technology in Vietnam. In recent years, Vietnam has invested very quickly in new technologies such as AR or VR. But the interesting thing about this event is that the technological theories are put into the hands of young people to reach young people.”
Mr. Patrick said that the exhibition is like a bridge connecting the past and the present, between Vietnamese history and young people. “Knowing about war to appreciate peace. This is a very smart approach.”
“If there is only one word to describe the exhibition, it is ‘meaningful’,” Patrick concluded.

This is also the first time a large-scale exhibition has been held at a “check-in” location facing Hoan Kiem Lake, creating conditions for people and tourists to easily access special products of Nhan Dan Newspaper.
The exhibition is part of a special information and propaganda campaign of Nhan Dan Newspaper on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).
