Mr. Le Ngoc Khanh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, said that tourism is considered a comprehensive economic sector, bringing many great economic and social benefits. With continuous growth over the past decades, tourism has affirmed itself as one of the fastest growing and largest service economic sectors in the world, contributing to the development of countries in general and Vietnam in particular.
In the socio-economic development orientation, Ba Ria-Vung Tau province identifies tourism as one of the four pillars to focus on development along with industry, seaports and high-tech agriculture, with the goal of developing Ba Ria-Vung Tau as a high-quality tourism center, an entertainment and resort center of international stature.
"To implement that orientation and goal, in recent times, the province has prioritized land funds with favorable locations to attract investment in large-scale tourism complexes with high-end international brands, focusing on upgrading existing tourism products, developing types and products of resort tourism, entertainment to become typical products, and rapidly developing supporting tourism types. The province has also focused on investing in transport infrastructure connecting tourism development areas, especially developing external transport such as Bien Hoa-Vung Tau expressway, coastal road, Phuoc An bridge... to strengthen the connection of tourism activities in particular and socio-economic development in general with localities in the region and the region", said Mr. Le Ngoc Khanh.
In addition, Ba Ria-Vung Tau province also proactively coordinated with localities in the Southeast region to promote tourism promotion information and tourism investment promotion. Focus on developing tourism human resources, especially high-quality human resources. With the efforts of the province and tourism businesses in the area, the total number of visitors to the province in the first 10 months of 2023 reached more than 12 million, an increase of 21.9% over the same period, with total revenue from tourists reaching more than 13,000 billion VND, an increase of 31.61% over the same period.
