US Vice President Kamala Harris has once again challenged former President Donald Trump to a second live debate between them before the November 5 general election.
Ms. Harris, this year's Democratic presidential candidate, recently accepted CNN's invitation to a debate with her Republican opponent on October 23.

“Join me on the debate stage. Let’s have another debate. There’s a lot to talk about and the American people deserve to hear the conversations that I think we should be having about substance, issues and policy,” Harris told reporters on September 22 after returning to Washington from a fundraiser in New York. The US vice president also expressed hope that Trump would agree to another “contest” with her after the first debate between the two on September 10 evening, organized by ABC news agency in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. However, a few hours after Harris issued the challenge, Trump flatly refused. Speaking to supporters at a campaign event in Wilmington, North Carolina, the former White House leader explained that “it’s too late” to have another “contest” because Americans have begun to vote early for the president. According to Trump; Ms. Harris had the opportunity to do so when Fox invited her, but the female politician declined. Previously, at a campaign fundraising event in New York City, Ms. Harris asserted that Mr. Trump "seemed to be looking for an excuse to avoid it". This year's US presidential election is entering a fierce phase, with just over 40 days left until the general election and Ms. Harris is said to have an advantage since becoming the Democratic candidate to replace President Joe Biden. CNN quoted an official from Ms. Harris's election campaign revealing that the female Vice President attracted up to 27 million USD in support at a fundraising event in New York on September 22. This is the largest amount of support at a single event since Ms. Harris officially joined the presidential race.Vietnamnet.vn
