Argentina is facing a potential gas crisis after the government decided to temporarily suspend gas supplies to industrial plants and compressed natural gas (CNG) distribution stations due to fuel shortages.
According to Bloomberg, the decision was made on May 28th amidst unusually cold weather in Argentina during May, a month before the Southern Hemisphere officially enters winter.
Due to supply shortages, the Argentine government has instructed distributors to prioritize supplying natural gas for heating purposes to households, schools, and hospitals, while restricting gas supplies to industrial areas, thermal power plants, and CNG service stations nationwide.
