Lionel Messi, the great soccer player who is still playing, is heading to Major League Soccer. This makes Apple's MLS Season Pass sure to generate a lot of subscribers.
If US users want to watch all of Inter Miami's games via the streaming platform, they'll need an MLS Season Pass. According to The Athletic , MLS and Apple have discussed giving Messi a portion of the revenue generated by new subscribers to the MLS Season.
MLS said it is pleased that Lionel Messi has announced his intention to join Inter Miami and Major League Soccer this summer, although there is still work to be done to finalize a formal deal.
Apple is willing to spend more money to invite Messi to the US
Clearly, Messi’s involvement in Major League Soccer is a boon for American corporations. Apple and MLS signed a 10-year, $2.5 billion deal earlier this year. Apple recently announced that a four-part documentary chronicling Messi’s five World Cup appearances will be available on AppleTV+.
Adidas also pledged to share a portion of its US profits with Messi if he agreed to join MLS. Messi has been working with Adidas since 2006, and in 2017 he signed a lifetime shoe sponsorship deal with the German sports brand.
The 2023 MLS season is now halfway through, and as a result, the MLS Season Pass has been reduced to $49 for the remainder of the season. The MLS Season Pass is available in the Apple TV app on all Apple platforms.
