The information about the opening of an online Apple Store in Vietnam has just been officially announced by "Apple" on its homepage. Accordingly, from May 18, users accessing the website apple.com/vn can buy products provided by Apple with a Vietnamese interface.
The company claims that the Vietnamese online store will provide the same personalized service and support to customers as Apple Store locations around the world . Behind the online page is a team of user support experts, using Vietnamese.
"We are honored to have the opportunity to expand in Vietnam and excited to be able to bring Apple care and support to customers with the launch of the Apple Store online," said Deirdre O'Brien, Apple's senior vice president of retail.
The launch of the online Apple Store could be a precursor to the appearance of a physical store in Vietnam.
Although there is no mention of a physical store in Vietnam, many experts and technology followers believe that this is a stepping stone to opening a traditional business location in a market of more than 100 million people. "Before opening a physical store in any market, Apple always opens an online store first to approach users step by step," said an expert.
The plan to have a physical Apple Store in Vietnam was recently revealed but no specific details were provided. When asked about the possibility of competition between Apple Stores and authorized distributor (AAR) stores, a representative of a business unit revealed that there would be "nothing to worry about" because the purpose of the Store is not to compete with dealers in sales but to provide an experience space as well as become an "official" location for customers to have more options to access the brand.
"Apple Stores were created with the main purpose of enhancing brand recognition and showing that Apple cares about the market, not to compete with local sellers. Dealers are always confident with their pricing policies as well as their own incentive programs for their customers," AAR representative revealed.
In Southeast Asia, only Singapore and Thailand currently have physical Apple Stores, which are also the two markets that have early sales of iPhones and many other devices produced by the "apple" company. With the appearance of the online Apple Store next week, Vietnamese users will likely be able to pre-order the upcoming products earlier than usual.
