APEC 2027: Opportunity for Phu Quoc to become the leading economic-tourism center in the region

Regarding infrastructure, Phu Quoc city will build a level 4E airport, with full items to increase terminal capacity, cargo terminal, aircraft parking position, upgrade runway... Phu Quoc international airport will be expanded to 1,073 hectares, extend the existing runway to 3.5km, build a new runway No. 2 of 3.3km, build a new T2 terminal, an international terminal with a capacity of up to 20 million passengers.

In addition, Rach Gia Airport is also directed to upgrade and expand to a scale of about 200 hectares, extend the runway by 2.4km and build a new terminal to receive large aircraft. Thanks to that, tourists will have more choices about trips and routes to Kien Giang.

In addition to air routes, An Thoi International Seaport will be upgraded to a scale of 100 hectares to be able to receive the world's largest cruise ships (such as Icon of the Seas) with the capacity to carry 7,000-10,000 tourists. Some road traffic routes will also be expanded and renovated, at the same time, infrastructure works will be urgently completed to create synchronous development for the city.

The APEC multi-functional complex is a key project, expected to contribute to the economic and tourism development of Phu Quoc in particular and Kien Giang province in general. With a total capacity of nearly 15,000 people, the multi-functional complex will provide many services from event organization to accommodation, meeting the needs of shopping, entertainment, etc.

In addition to the convention-exhibition center, square and international press center, the multi-functional complex also has a hotel, a duty-free shopping mall and a multi-purpose cultural and artistic palace. It has modern facilities and can organize large-scale art programs. In the multi-purpose cultural and artistic palace, there is also a culinary space that can serve 3,000-4,000 people.

The beauty of Cau Hon - a place that attracts many tourists to visit in Phu Quoc.

Along with existing iconic structures such as: Kiss Bridge, Hon Thom cable car, Kiss of the Sea show..., the multifunctional complex when launched will not only contribute to the success of APEC 2027, but also create a new symbol for Phu Quoc, bringing sustainable values ​​to the local tourism industry.

APEC 2027 is considered a historic opportunity, but also poses many challenges for the Pearl Island, especially in terms of project completion progress. In order for the projects to be able to "reach the finish line" on time, in addition to the strong support of local authorities, there needs to be strong participation from strategic investors so that Phu Quoc can soon complete its set goals.
