The Southern Hydrometeorological Station said that today (February 11), in Ho Chi Minh City, the highest temperature is about 32-33 degrees; especially some suburban districts such as Can Gio, Nha Be, Cu Chi, Hoc Mon, Binh Chanh... may experience unseasonal rain.

It is forecasted that unseasonal rain will continue to spread throughout Ho Chi Minh City on February 12-13 with a 55-60% chance of rain, and by February 14 the rain area will narrow again.

At the same time, this Meteorological Station also forecasts and warns of the weather in week 2 of February 2025 (from February 11 to 20) in Ho Chi Minh City. Accordingly, the general assessment of the Meteorological Station is that the cold air continues to weaken and move eastward.

Around February 13 and February 16-17, cold air is likely to strengthen again but at a weak level and mainly shift to the East.

In addition, in the South China Sea, there is a low pressure trough with an axis at about 7-10 degrees North latitude connecting with the low pressure area at 7:00 a.m. this morning (February 11) located at about 8.5-9.5 degrees North latitude, 112.5-113.5 degrees East longitude.

Ho Chi Minh City area during this period is affected by the combined influence of 2 systems, the southern edge of the cold air mass and the northern low pressure trough along with easterly wind disturbances in a few days of the weekend. Therefore, the weather pattern in the area has fluctuations.

Specifically, from February 11 to 13, there will be showers and thunderstorms in some places due to the combined impact of the southern edge of the cold air mass and the low pressure trough with the low pressure area over the East Sea.

From February 17-20, there will be rain in some places due to easterly wind disturbance moving into the area.

The remaining days are generally free of rain.

During the forecast period, temperatures are expected to increase slightly compared to the previous week, including average, highest and lowest temperatures. The highest temperature is 31-35 degrees; the lowest is 21-25 degrees. The total weekly rainfall is approximately the average of many years with total rainfall generally ranging from 10-50mm.

In addition, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms in the coastal areas of Ho Chi Minh City; beware of gusts and tornadoes during thunderstorms. In the first half of the week, the wind will change direction to level 4, sometimes level 5; in the second half of the week, the northeast wind will be level 4-5.

Regarding the low pressure trough in the southern sea, on the same afternoon, the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that currently, the low pressure trough has an axis at about 8-11 degrees North latitude connecting with the low pressure area at 13:00 located at about 9.5-10.5 degrees North latitude and 112.5-113.5 degrees East longitude.

It is forecasted that in the next 24 hours, the low pressure area will move slowly in the West Northwest direction and is likely to strengthen into a tropical depression.

Due to the influence of the low pressure trough connecting with the low pressure area, the Central and Southern East Sea (including the waters of Truong Sa archipelago), the waters from Binh Dinh to Ninh Thuan will have showers and thunderstorms. During the thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes and strong gusts of wind of level 6-7.

The North welcomes cold air, the lowest temperature in the plains is 14 degrees. From the night of February 12 and the morning of February 13, cold air will flow in, then on February 15-16, a new wave will strengthen. The weather in the North is cold, alternating with days of drizzle and fog.
