The sanctions cover 30 ships that Britain accuses of trying to evade Western restrictions on Russian oil.

He said this was the largest sanctions package yet against Moscow's "underground fleet".

By 2023, the “underground fleet” was transporting billions of pounds worth of Russian oil and oil products all over the world.

The new measures bring the number of oil tankers subject to the UK embargo to 73.

Meanwhile, two Russian insurers, AlfaStrakhovanie and VSK, also face sanctions. The UK will continue to tighten insurance information for ships passing through its waters.

“We are determined to ensure that the ships and those who enable them to undermine European and UK sanctions are held accountable,” the British Foreign Secretary stressed.

Mr. Lammy also called on the Group of Seven (G7) countries to stand together and equip Kiev if necessary.

"Ukraine will receive money, equipment and military supplies to get through 2025," he informed.

* Also related to sanctions against Russia, recently, speaking on national radio station Kossuth Radio , Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban warned that the European Union (EU) must abandon its policy of sanctions against Moscow or risk causing economic collapse.

In the statement, the Hungarian leader stressed that the EU sanctions regime "needs to be reconsidered, because with such a punitive policy, energy prices will not decrease".

Prime Minister Orban also affirmed: "It will be very painful for those who justify sanctions. This is not happening to us. The other side must change, because otherwise the sanctions will destroy the European economy."
