Phu Chau Temple, also known as Floating Temple (in Ward 5, Go Vap District, Ho Chi Minh City) is isolated on an island in the middle of the Vam Thuat River - a branch of the Saigon River.
Phu Chau Temple is located on an island in the middle of the Vam Thuat River, on one side is Go Vap District, on the other side is District 12. The front of Phu Chau temple faces south, built in the shape of the letter Tam, consisting of three buildings connected by two narrow roofed courtyards. The temple roof is covered with jade green glazed yin-yang tiles, consisting of two overlapping floors. The roof of the temple is decorated with dragons surrounding pearls, dragons surrounding nine-grade towers, and dragons surrounding scrolls. On the four ends of the knife are dragons, unicorns, turtles, phoenixes, and motifs such as chrysanthemums, grape leaves, rivers, etc. The only way to get to Phu Chau temple is by boat. Each round trip passenger must pay the boatman 15,000 VND. The temple has existed for about 300 years. Almost equal to the time of formation of Saigon - Gia Dinh land. In the middle of the front hall is the Maitreya Buddha, on both sides are the Tathagata Buddha and the Earth Mother. In front is the statue of Quan Am Chuan De sitting on a lotus throne with 18 arms holding a Dharma instrument. Along the wall hang two reliefs of the Eighteen Arhats. The main shrine worships the Five Elements Holy Mother, inside are placed five wooden statues of the five elements. In front of the shrine is an altar, worshiping the Lady of Chau Doc and the Nine Generations. Porcelain motifs almost cover the structures in the temple grounds. Many people come here to release fish and pray for peace for their families. Floating Temple in Ho Chi Minh City or Phu Chau Temple is a sacred place of thanksgiving for the people.
