Lychee trees have been planted by farmers in the Central Highlands in general and Dak Lak province in particular for more than 20 years now, and with the advantage of ripening earlier than lychees in the Northern provinces and good quality, lychees in the Central Highlands are sold at high prices. With the economic value brought by lychees being quite high, second only to durian trees, in recent years, farmers in Dak Lak province have focused on developing lychees in the direction of commodity production. Up to now, the area of lychees in Dak Lak province has expanded to about 2,500 hectares, of which Ea Kar district has the largest area with about 1,000 hectares, of which about 600 hectares are harvested with this year's output reaching about 9,000 tons.
