Android 15 will be released on October 15th

Google has reportedly submitted Android 15 code to the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) but has yet to release it to supported Pixel phones.

On August 27, 2024, Google changed the release notes for the Android Beta Exit update that is being offered to devices not participating in the Android beta program. The notes say that users waiting for the stable update of the Android 15 operating system should "skip the OTA downgrade until Android 15 is ready in October."

And a recent report reveals that the Android 15 over-the-air update for Pixel will roll out on October 15. The update will be available for Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 7a, Google Pixel tablets, Pixel Fold, Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, Pixel 8a.

In addition, Android 15 will also be deployed to the new Pixel 9 devices launched in August. These phones all come with Android 14 pre-installed and will receive Android 15 on October 15 like other supported phones.
