After eating dog meat, eight members of a family in Buon Ma Thuot City ( Dak Lak province) had to be hospitalized with symptoms of vomiting and diarrhea.

On the afternoon of November 20th, the Dak Lak Provincial Department of Health announced that a food poisoning incident had occurred in Buon Ma Thuot City, with the main dish suspected to be dog meat purchased from a store.
According to initial information, on the afternoon of November 18th, the family of Ms. HMNiê, residing in Kô Siêr hamlet, Tân Lập ward (Buôn Ma Thuột city), held a meal with dog meat as the main dish.
After finishing their meal, late at night all eight members of the family showed symptoms of fever, nausea, and fatigue, so they were taken to the emergency room by their relatives.
According to the Dak Lak Provincial Department of Health, the cause of hospitalization for all eight people at the Central Highlands Regional General Hospital is suspected to be food poisoning.
Following initial treatment, the patients' health has now stabilized and they are being continuously monitored by doctors.
The hospital also took samples for analysis to determine the cause.
