Recently, Lindo (26 years old, an Angolan vlogger with a Youtube channel of more than 500,000 followers) - a familiar face to Vietnamese netizens as a close friend of Quang Linh Vlogs in the Africa group, just had his first trip to Vietnam.
Coming to Vietnam this time, because Quang Linh had a busy personal schedule, Lindo was welcomed by his close friend's parents from Nghe An to Hanoi and taken to explore and experience the culture and cuisine in the capital.
On his first morning in Hanoi, Lindo was taken to a restaurant on Trung Kinh Street, Cau Giay District, to enjoy chicken pho. The Angolan man also revealed that pho was the first dish he wanted to try when traveling to Vietnam.
As soon as he entered the restaurant, Lindo was overwhelmed and delighted by the attention and greetings from the Vietnamese guests around him. Everyone recognized the familiar, famous guy from the African group and excitedly asked to take pictures with him. In response to that affection, Lindo was happy, comfortable taking pictures, shaking hands and getting to know everyone.
After just a few minutes of waiting, the 26-year-old vlogger was served a full, hot bowl of chicken pho with a fragrant broth. He also showed that he was no less of a gourmet than the Vietnamese when he slowly squeezed lemon into the bowl, ordered iced tea to go with it, and politely invited everyone to enjoy it.
Eagerly tasting the first spoonful of broth, Lindo was surprised by the very attractive flavor. He said he had eaten Vietnamese pho in Angola but rated the flavor of pho in Vietnam as still more delicious and impressive.
When instructed, the tourist from Africa also carefully followed, dipping the crispy fried dough into the pho broth and enjoying it. He kept praising the deliciousness and quickly finished the chicken pho, slurping down the broth. Feeling that it was not enough, he ordered a second bowl of pho and also “gulped it down”.
“I have to admit that Vietnamese food is delicious,” Lindo commented.
After finishing breakfast with a full stomach, Lindo and everyone walked around the alley. Many people around recognized him, came to shake hands and greet him, chatting animatedly. The friendliness and hospitality of the Vietnamese people, even though he had never met them before, made the Angolan boy very touched.
It is known that, in addition to pho, Lindo also had the opportunity to enjoy many other dishes in Hanoi during the days of exploring around the capital. He was taken by everyone to eat many popular dishes, familiar to Vietnamese people such as duck eggs, sandwiches, vermicelli with fermented shrimp paste, etc. or enjoy drinks made from coffee such as salt coffee, iced milk coffee, etc.
The young man admitted that the food and drinks in Vietnam are very delicious. He has experienced sitting on the sidewalk drinking iced tea, eating “dirty skewers”, mixed sweet soup or riding a motorbike around the streets, taking the elevated train to see the capital and could not help but admire the bustling development in the homeland of his close Vietnamese friend – Quang Linh.
"Vietnam is so beautiful. Everything here is so different from Angola," said a male tourist from Africa.
