An Giang: Releasing over 230,000 fish fry to regenerate aquatic resources

On August 17 and 18, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province coordinated with the People's Committee of Tinh Bien town and the People's Committee of An Phu district to release fish to restore aquatic resources in 2024.

Specifically, on August 18, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province coordinated with the government of Tinh Bien town to release more than 166,300 fish fry of various types including: perch, loach, yellow catfish, silver carp, carp, striped snakehead fish... into Tra Su canal, in Nhon Hung ward and Nha Bang ward, Tinh Bien town.

Previously, on the morning of August 17, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province coordinated with the People's Committee of An Phu district to release about 64,000 aquatic breeds into the wild in Bung Binh Thien area, Nhon Hoi commune.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hung, Vice Chairman of Tinh Bien Town People's Committee shared that in recent years, aquatic resources have significantly declined due to many reasons. Therefore, the regeneration, protection and development of natural aquatic resources is an important task, contributing to creating ecological balance, helping to maintain the richness and diversity of aquatic species.
