On the morning of October 24, in District 5 (HCMC), a press conference was held to launch the Cho Lon Food Story culinary festival in 2024 with the theme of Delicious Noodles and Cakes .
The event was organized by the Economic Department of District 5 in coordination with the Cultural - Sports Center of District 5, taking place from December 6 to 8.
This is the second time this culinary festival has been held after the success of the 2023 event with the theme of Experiencing Delicious Breakfast, attracting more than 25,000 domestic and foreign visitors.
Organization size increased by 30% compared to 2023

Ms. Dao Thi Anh Tuyet, deputy head of the Economic Department of District 5, said that this year the festival is expected to have 50 booths.
This number is up 30% from 35 booths in 2023.
Participating restaurants and eateries must have a specific address, be operating in District 5 and neighboring districts, and meet food hygiene and safety standards.
During the festival, booths showcase the quintessence of traditional and modern Vietnamese-Chinese cuisine.
Attendees will enjoy "Vietnamese cuisine" such as tea, coffee, drinks, sweet soup...
Chinese cuisine includes noodles, rice vermicelli, dumplings, cakes of all kinds... and other cooking products and ingredients.
In addition, there are also activities to experience cooking by yourself through kitchen workshops.
Within the framework of the festival, talk shows and seminars on cuisine, brand building, etc. are also held with the aim of promoting and developing tourism in the new era.
Hope District 5 becomes a typical culinary destination
At the press conference, Mr. Tran Minh Sang, Head of the Economic Department of District 5, shared: "The goal of the festival is to promote brands and delicious, long-standing restaurants here to many people."
The organizers wish to introduce, honor and build the culinary brand of Delicious Food District 5 .
Through that, the program aims to turn District 5 into a typical culinary tourism destination of the city, attracting local people and domestic and foreign tourists.
The festival will be divided into main areas such as:
The food stall area has dishes, restaurants selling noodles and cakes, traditional Vietnamese - Chinese cuisine;
Experience area for visitors to make festival dishes themselves, taking place alternately during the time slots.
Exhibition area explores culinary journey with restaurants and eateries in District 5 through interactive screens; stage area serves other entertainment events.
The Cho Lon Food Story culinary event is a place to tell stories about the culture of enjoying "food" and "cuisine", along with the customs and practices of the Vietnamese - Chinese community in the Cho Lon area.
In addition to the main activities, this year's festival also organizes a short film design contest called Delicious Food in District 5, bringing unique culinary stories.
