Although the hot porridge portions were not given to the patients, they were the hearts of the benefactors with the desire to help and share with the patients being treated at the Krong Nang District Medical Center.
Every Saturday morning, the volunteers of “Pot of Love Porridge” come to the familiar location in the group’s kitchen area, working together to prepare porridge to be distributed in time for breakfast to patients. Mr. Duong Van Man, a volunteer, shared: “To complete the pot of porridge, on Friday afternoon we started preparing all the ingredients, washing vegetables and fruits, soaking rice, mincing meat, etc. On Saturday morning, all members were present in the kitchen area from 4:30, each person doing a task so that the porridge could be cooked in time to be distributed to the people. In addition to the porridge, we also donated many other breakfast items such as milk, bread, etc.”

Ms. Hoang Thi Hong Van, the group leader, shared that many patients are ethnic minorities with difficult lives, so we joined hands to call on people with the same charitable idea to establish the group "Pot of Loving Porridge", which started operating in 2017 every Saturday morning. At first, the group only had a few participants and the main funding was donated and maintained by the members. After the group's activities were posted and spread on social networks such as Zalo, Facebook, etc., it received the attention and response of the whole community. Up to now, in addition to the regular members, there are dozens of people participating, regularly supporting and donating operating costs. In addition to receiving cash support, many individuals also donated ingredients to cook porridge.
Realizing the meaningfulness of the activity, it gradually attracted many people to participate and support. In 2019, Ms. Van and some friends founded the "Love to Return" Club, aiming at those in difficult and dangerous situations in life. The Club also connects with associations, groups, and clubs inside and outside the province to organize charitable activities. Since then, the Club has carried out many other volunteer activities such as donating and giving clothes, sandals, hats; helping the elderly living alone in life; supporting sick children being treated at the hospital; supporting ambulances; helping poor patients; carrying out volunteer activities towards remote areas of the district...
In addition to distributing porridge to patients, the “Love to Find Home” Club also coordinates to organize charity activities. Ms. Be Thi Hue, President of the Red Cross Society of Krong Nang district, added that there are currently two volunteer clubs in the district, “Heart of Compassion” and “Love to Find Home”, operating under the support of the Society. Although each volunteer club has different operating regulations, forms of assistance, and target groups, they all share the spirit of “living to share”, and the desire to spread love to disadvantaged groups in the community through their work.
