According to Engadget , the game's fall 2023 release schedule has been constantly changing, with Remedy Entertainment and publisher Epic Games pushing back the release date of Alan Wake II by 10 days, specifically to October 27th. It seems this decision wasn't related to needing more time to perfect the game.
According to the development team, delaying the release of Alan Wake II will give people more time to experience other big games also launching in October. Specifically, the official Alan Wake II account posted: "October is a great month to launch games and we hope this release date change will give people more space to enjoy their favorite games."
Alan Wake II will officially launch on October 27th.
Additionally, the new release date will allow the survival horror game to be released closer to Halloween. In the meantime, fans will be able to learn more about the game when it's showcased at Gamescom's Opening Night Live event on August 22nd.
October 2023 was a special month with a host of major game releases. Besides Alan Wake 2, video game fans also saw the arrival of other big names like Super Mario Bros. Wonder, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection, Detective Pikachu Returns, Forza Motorsport, Lords of the Fallen , and Cities Skylines II.
Earlier this week, Ubisoft also announced that they will release Assassin's Creed Mirage a week earlier, on October 5th, while the Batman: Arkham Trilogy will arrive on Nintendo's Switch console on October 13th.
