Billionaire Nguyen Dang Quang's daughter registered to buy 10 million Masan shares

Billionaire Nguyen Dang Quang's daughter registered to buy 10 million MSN shares. If successful, this will be the first time Ms. Nguyen Yen Linh owns shares of Masan Group.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HoSE), information from Masan Group Corporation (MSN) said that Ms. Nguyen Yen Linh - daughter of billionaire Nguyen Dang Quang (Chairman of the Board of Directors of Masan) registered to buy 10 million MSN shares (equivalent to 0.66% of charter capital) during the period from October 29 to November 18 through order matching or negotiation.

At the end of the trading session on October 24, MSN was priced at VND78,500/share. Therefore, Ms. Nguyen Yen Linh may have to spend about VND785 billion to buy 10 million MSN shares.

Mr. Nguyen Dang Quang currently holds 18 MSN shares. Mr. Quang's wife - Ms. Nguyen Hoang Yen (Ms. Nguyen Yen Linh's mother), holds nearly 50.9 million MSN shares, equivalent to 3.36%.

If the transaction is successful, Nguyen Yen Linh will own MSN shares for the first time, becoming a shareholder of Masan Group.

Mr. Nguyen Dang Quang and Mrs. Nguyen Hoang Yen have 3 children: Nguyen Yen Linh, Nguyen Thuy Linh and Nguyen Dang Linh.

Currently, Mr. Nguyen Dang Quang is one of the 6 USD billionaires in Vietnam according to Forbes list. As of October 24, Mr. Quang has assets of 1.2 billion USD.

Although he only directly holds 18 Masan shares, Mr. Quang indirectly holds a large amount of MSN shares through Masan JSC and Hoa Huong Duong, equivalent to nearly 39% of Masan shares. Mr. Quang also holds more than 18.8 million Techcombank (TCB) shares. In addition, Mr. Quang also directly holds shares of Masan Consumer (MCH), Masan Vision...

In Q3/2024, Masan reported a 15-fold increase in net profit over the same period to over VND700 billion thanks to positive results from the retail consumer segment and savings in interest expenses. Net revenue increased by 6.6% to nearly VND21,500 billion despite the disruption of the Masan High-Tech Materials segment.

Billionaire Nguyen Dang Quang's "golden goose" is about to be listed on HoSE. Masan Consumer - a consumer goods company in billionaire Nguyen Dang Quang's ecosystem - will bring its shares from Upcom to HoSE in 2025.
