On behalf of Agribank, there were Ms. Tu Thi Kim Thanh - Member of the Board of Members; Ms. Phung Thi Binh - Deputy General Director and representatives of the leaders of some units at the Head Office.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Ms. Phung Thi Binh - Deputy General Director of Agribank informed about some outstanding performance results of Agribank. After 36 years of establishment and development, Agribank is now one of the leading commercial banks in Vietnam, always pioneering and leading in implementing the guidelines, policies and strategies of the Party, State, Government, National Assembly, State Bank, and being a key player in the financial market, especially in agriculture and rural areas.
By October 31, 2024, Agribank's total assets reached VND 2.14 million billion, making it one of the largest banks in the system of credit institutions in Vietnam; Capital reached VND 1.94 million billion; Total outstanding loans to the economy reached VND 1.66 million billion, of which 65% of outstanding loans focused on investing in the development of "Tam Nong", actively contributing with the banking industry to realize the Party's Resolutions on agriculture, farmers, and rural areas - the field identified as the "pillar" of the economy with the specific goal "For a modern agriculture, civilized farmers, and innovative rural areas".
In addition to the main implementation of 07 policy credit programs, 03 national target programs, and many activities for the Community, Agribank focuses on developing and providing over 200 convenient and modern products and services to meet the diverse needs of individual and institutional customers, aiming at the goals of Digital Banking, Retail Banking, promoting the development of non-cash payments and the National Comprehensive Financial Strategy. Along with strong digital transformation, Agribank strengthens connections, expands international cooperation, promotes integration, thereby contributing to the international integration of the banking industry, creating a necessary foundation in attracting foreign capital flows, as well as foreign investors into the country's economy.
With its contributions to the national economy, especially the development of "Tam Nong", Agribank has been recognized by the Party, State, Government, and Banking Industry with many noble awards: Hero of Labor in the Renovation Period, Second Class Independence Medal, First Class Labor Medal... Prestigious domestic and international organizations highly appreciated and honored Agribank as a National Brand, Top 10 largest enterprises in Vietnam, Top Largest Taxpaying Enterprises, Fitch Ratings rated its credit rating at Ba2 with a "Stable" outlook (equivalent to the national credit rating).
Also at the ceremony, on behalf of the Department of External Information, Comrade Pham Anh Tuan - Director expressed his delight at the close and effective cooperation between the two units in the past time. The Department of External Information was assigned by the leaders of the Ministry of Information and Communications to be the focal agency for State management and law enforcement on external information work and implementation of external information activities.
In April 2018, the Center for International Journalism and Media Cooperation, a unit under the Ministry of Information and Communications, with a 34-year tradition of operation, was merged into the Department of Foreign Information to strengthen and promote foreign communication activities. Over the past 15 years of establishment and development, the Department of Foreign Information has achieved many great achievements, with important contributions to the country's foreign information career from building institutional policies to serving the state management of foreign information, to implementing foreign information activities at home and abroad.
In recent times, Agribank and the Department of External Information have carried out active and effective coordination and cooperation activities, contributing to strengthening external information work, promoting the image of the country and people of Vietnam, and enhancing the national position.
The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the Department of External Information - Ministry of Information and Communications and Agribank will be the basis and conditions for both sides to research and work towards specific cooperation, strengthen information channels to quickly and promptly convey the policies and guidelines of the Party and State to press agencies, mass media channels, social networks, international organizations; participate in introducing and promoting products and services, promoting brands, accompanying many conferences, seminars, and events at home and abroad; communicate Vietnam's socio-economic achievements, including the achievements of the banking sector and Agribank's contributions to the country's socio-economic development..., thereby concretizing the policies and guidelines of the Party and State on external information, enhancing the prestige and role of Vietnam, promoting the image of the country and its people, enhancing the value of Vietnamese brands and enterprises in the international arena.
