Agribank Bac Thanh Hoa staff introduces payment method via QR code.
Recently, in But Son town (Hoang Hoa), people have become familiar with electronic payment instead of using cash as before. Commercial stores and mini supermarkets have begun to fully equip POS machines for swiping cards and QR codes for quick payment. Many customers who have experienced it for the first time are also very satisfied because the operation is quite simple and fast.
Ms. Le Thi Thuy, owner of a mini supermarket in But Son town, has registered to use the QR code payment service of Agribank Hoang Hoa. During the sales process, the majority of customers use the QR service to pay without using cash. This not only helps the store save time and avoid counterfeit money, but also makes payment convenient.
Ms. Thuy said: “The QR code has been used at the store since the beginning of 2023, creating a lot of convenience for customers as well as sellers. Especially when there are many customers, payment and money checking operations are much faster and more efficient. Although it has been used for less than a year, currently non-cash transactions and payments via QR codes at the store account for about 40% of revenue.”

Thereby, helping people use money transfer services, limit the use of cash, save costs, avoid mistakes in counting, transportation and limit risks for customers, contributing to helping people get closer to modern products and services, changing the habit of using cash.

Agribank Bac Thanh Hoa has provided more than 200 convenient banking products and services to customers; over 150,000 customers have opened payment deposit accounts and used Agribank's products and services. In the card sector, Agribank Bac Thanh Hoa is one of the leading units in the card market with a total number of active cards reaching nearly 133,000 cards, 19 ATMs, 72 POS machines. Along with that, the unit has developed thousands of QR-Code points, most of which are business households with Agribank accounts equipped with free VietQR codes. Through payment acceptance points, QR codes, customers use their accounts and ATM cards, use Agribank E-Mobile Banking, eBanking services to make payments quickly and conveniently. In particular, the unit has effectively deployed the eKYC identification method using biometric technology (face, fingerprint) allowing customers to register customer information (CIF) online, register to open an account online, use Agribank E-Mobile Banking service instead of having to go to the transaction counter, a total of 4,645 customers have successfully opened online accounts.
To develop digital banking services, Agribank Bac Thanh Hoa continues to enhance the application of technology to promote the development of electronic banking transaction channels on a modern technology platform.
