Acecook Vietnam rose from 60th place in 2023 to 13th place in the Top 100 Sustainable Enterprises ranking in 2024.
With the motto “Cook happiness” to bring happiness to consumers, employees and society, Acecook Vietnam identifies sustainable development as the top priority in its long-term strategy. In particular, the leap in Acecook Vietnam’s position on the CSI 2024 rankings shows the company’s spectacular efforts, closely following the evaluation criteria set out by the 2024 Corporate Sustainability Index.
Developing products that enhance nutritional value
Acecook Vietnam is well aware of its responsibility to bring quality, nutritious, safe products as well as provide accurate, scientific information to consumers. With the desire to enhance the value of the instant noodle industry, Acecook Vietnam has improved its products to be more delicious, convenient, safe, as well as bring a fun experience to everyone when using the products. Over the years, Acecook Vietnam has continuously researched and added vitamins and minerals to its products such as: Adding calcium to Hao Hao noodles, providing more vitamin B12 in Phu Huong vermicelli or Ohayo instant porridge rich in fiber. In particular, exported products are also labeled Gluten-free, Vegan... to help international consumers choose according to their specific needs.
The company also maintains communication activities about instant noodles as well as propaganda and guidance for consumers to eat nutritious foods according to nutritional formulas, through a series of seminars and educational programs on food safety and nutrition for women's associations, students and pupils in localities nationwide. In addition, the company also organizes seminars and educational activities on environmental protection, the "Green Living, Healthy Living" program, how to classify waste, etc. to raise public awareness.
In particular, the company also expanded its factory tour programs, welcoming about 10,000 visitors each year to visit factories nationwide to create opportunities for consumers to directly observe the production process, build trust and peace of mind about product quality, as well as instruct on how to use noodles scientifically. This is also an opportunity for the company to connect more closely with consumers, listen to opinions, understand needs and thereby bring about appropriate improvements.
Promoting sustainable production, joining hands to protect the green planet
Following the direction of sustainable development, in 2024, Acecook Vietnam has taken important steps in minimizing the impact on the environment. Notably, the move to convert the packaging of cup noodles, bowls, and trays to environmentally friendly materials: Using paper cups instead of plastic cups for Modern, Handy Hao Hao, Caykay products... as well as initially testing the removal of plastic forks in mini cup noodles. Despite increasing production costs due to packaging changes, Acecook Vietnam is still determined to promote this innovation to reduce the amount of plastic used, limit plastic waste to the environment, while maintaining food quality and safety standards.
Contributing to environmental protection, Acecook Vietnam has switched to using clean energy. Since 2021, the company has installed a boiler system using liquefied petroleum gas imported from Japan, helping to reduce about 43% CO2, 70% NOx and completely eliminate SO2 compared to coal boilers. By 2023, Acecook Vietnam will gradually switch to Biomass boilers, using agricultural by-products at the remaining factories. The goal is that by 2025, Acecook Vietnam will complete the transition to clean energy at all factories, contributing to reducing greenhouse gases, saving energy and protecting the environment.
Acecook Vietnam also uses green energy from solar power systems to produce instant noodles. The rooftop solar power system installed at the main office building and factory in Ho Chi Minh City can provide an average output of about 900,000 kWh/year.
In addition to serving production, the generated electricity is also used for the operations of the main office building in Tan Binh Industrial Park, Ho Chi Minh City, with nearly 400 employees working there. The green energy system not only contributes to reducing emissions and optimizing costs in the Ho Chi Minh City area, but is also being expanded to the Vinh Long factory, expected to be operational in 2026.
Bringing happiness to the community, realizing sustainable development goals
Acecook Vietnam's sustainable development journey is also clearly demonstrated through its commitment to social responsibility, through volunteer activities, contributing to the development of sports, culture and improving the quality of life of the community. Since 2019, Acecook Vietnam has cooperated with the Vietnam Children's Fund to implement projects, donating more than 15 billion VND to 50,000 disadvantaged children through nutritious meals, scholarships and school supplies. Within the framework of this cooperation, the "Happy Trip" project also brought nearly 100 disadvantaged children from all over the country to visit the Acecook Vietnam factory in Ho Chi Minh City.
In addition, the company is also a familiar sponsor for large and small sports activities nationwide, the main sponsor for the Vietnam Football Team, contributing to encouraging people to participate in sports activities, building a solid health foundation.
Committed to sustainable development, Acecook Vietnam is constantly implementing practical solutions to link economic growth with environmental protection and social responsibility. These efforts not only affirm the position of the enterprise but also spread positive values, contributing to the creation of a happy and prosperous society.
