In order to ensure that customers can conduct continuous, smooth and secure financial transactions after Decision 2345/QD-NHNN of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) takes effect from July 1, 2024, ABBANK has implemented updating and supplementing biometric data from chip-embedded citizen identification cards (CCCD) to protect account security and compare with the database of the Ministry of Public Security.
Accordingly, customers can update biometric information (face) directly on the AB Ditizen e-banking application and synchronize with the data stored in the chip on the CCCD. Updating biometric information before Decision 2345 takes effect will help customers increase security, proactively plan their finances and avoid affecting future transactions.
To update biometric information, customers need to prepare a CCCD card with chip and a phone with NFC connection and have updated the AB Ditizen app to the latest version (Note: Mobile phones need to use iOS 13 and Android 7 or higher operating systems). The installation is easy with the following 5 steps:
1. Download/update the app, log in and select the notification item on the home screen;
2. Consent to use data;
3. Take photos of the front and back of the CCCD with chip (in case the photo does not meet the requirements, it will be transferred to the step of scanning the QR code of the CCCD);
4. Verify your face as instructed;
5. Complete biometric registration.
In addition, if customers need further instructions or information support, they can contact hotline 1800 1159 or the nearest ABBANK branch/transaction office.
To avoid the risk of fraud, customers please DO NOT update biometric data via any other website or application. ABBANK does not ask customers to provide OTP, password, card number, security code or any personal information via phone or link.
According to Decision 2345/QD-NHNN, starting from July 1, 2024, transactions such as money transfers via accounts, deposits into e-wallets... over 10 million VND/transaction; or under 10 million VND/transaction but the total amount of transactions in the day is 20 million VND or more, the next transfer in that day must be authenticated by biometrics. Money transfers under 10 million VND/transaction or the total transaction value does not exceed 20 million VND/day must be authenticated by Smart OTP code as usual.
In addition, according to Article 2 of Decision 2345, individual customers must also be biometrically identified before making their first transaction using an electronic banking application (mobile banking) or before making a transaction on a device other than the device they last made the transaction on.
In addition to upgrading the infrastructure to meet the State Bank's requirements for account authentication, ABBANK also strengthens the completion of information technology infrastructure, standardizes database systems, and enhances data security to create an important foundation for the next transformation plans.
ABBANK is strongly and comprehensively implementing the Transformation Strategy 2024-2028, accelerating digitalization and applying technology to all activities, continuously improving management capacity according to international standards and modern models, while continuing to adhere to the direction of sustainable, safe and effective development.
