At the age of 26, Nga La Huy Hien was recognized by the British Government as a Global Talent and a New Leader in the field of Digital Technology.
Ngo Le Huy Hien (born in 1998 in Da Nang), studied Computer Science and Engineering at the Vietnam - UK Institute for Research and Training (VNUK), Da Nang University. Graduating as valedictorian of VNUK, the 9X chose to study the Erasmus Mundus GENIAL joint master's program in the UK, France, and Sweden, with a full scholarship from the European Commission.
Erasmus Mundus GENIAL is a program that brings together many excellent students from all over the world. After 2 years of study, in 2022, Huy Hien once again graduated with excellent results with 4 master's degrees in the fields of: Computer Science, Information Technology, Complex Systems Engineering, Green Computer Networks and Cloud Computing, with the highest GPA in the course.

Global Talent at 26
After graduating with a master's degree, Huy Hien chose to live and work in the UK for the past 2 years. However, just a few months ago, when his UK visa was about to expire, the 9X had to actively look for other companies that could sponsor him to continue working.
After many interviews, although impressed with the young Vietnamese man's ability, the units refused him due to visa issues. "At that time, I felt quite depressed and started thinking about leaving the UK and looking for opportunities in other countries," Huy Hien said.
The door in England seemed to be closed, but then a chance meeting with a female professor who used to teach at the university helped the young man turn things around. Knowing the story, the female professor advised Huy Hien to apply under the Global Talent category to get a visa. Although this was the most difficult category, she actively encouraged and believed that her former student would succeed.
The Global Talent Certificate is awarded to individuals with significant achievements and contributions in areas on a global scale, including: Academics/Research, Arts and Culture, Digital Technology. This is also a certificate for individuals who have won prestigious international awards such as Nobel, Fields, Oscars, Grammys, etc.
The UK Government agency will review the candidate's history of achievements and contributions over several years before issuing the certificate.

Artificial intelligence is Huy Hien's area of expertise. To achieve the prestigious certification, the 9X must ensure many strict criteria such as: innovation in the role of a digital technology company leader, having documents published in specialized publications, significant contributions to technical improvements, outstanding research and excellent academic achievements.
According to the profile sent to the organization, up to now, young man Huy Hien has 12 international research articles published in the field of AI with h-index 7. 9X has led an international technology cooperation project on AI with professors in the UK and France, and received support funds from the European Union and many other organizations for AI research.
He is also a reviewer for high-ranking international scientific research journals in the field of AI, such as Journal of Big Data (Q1), Information Retrieval (Q1), International Journal of Computational Intelligence Systems (Q2)... and major international scientific conferences. In addition, Huy Hien is also a mentor for many individuals from different countries, in research projects on engineering technology.

Normally, the certification application will be processed by the British government agency within 8 weeks. Only candidates with exceptional qualifications (such as having won Nobel Prizes, Oscars, Grammys) will be processed under the 3-week fast-track review. However, after only 7 days, the young man was surprised to receive a notice that he met the requirements and successfully convinced the certification agency.
“I was overwhelmed when I heard that my application was approved and I was officially recognized as a Global Talent and an Emerging Leader in the Digital Technology field. Holding the letter in my hand, I burst into tears, knowing that all my efforts had finally been recognized,” Huy Hien emotionally said.
According to British government statistics, each year only about 4 individuals in Southeast Asia are certified in the category that Huy Hien has just achieved. With the Global Talent certificate, the 9X is allowed to work and reside permanently in the UK without any further constraints until he receives citizenship. In addition, he can establish and name a company in the UK, and at the same time sponsor his family and relatives.
Set foot in 48 countries
As of early December 2024, Huy Hien has set foot in 48 countries and territories in 5 continents. Of these, 36 countries and territories, the 9X came thanks to the sponsorship and full scholarships he received during 6 years of undergraduate and master's studies.
Despite having an impressive academic record, Huy Hien always humbly says that he is not that outstanding. What helped him achieve the results he has today is thanks to the strategies he set out and his relentless efforts over the years.

“Looking back on the journey, from a young man who came from a poor family background, reaching out to the world, setting foot in 48 countries and now being recognized as a Global Talent, I am truly grateful for all the opportunities that have come my way, and the people I have met,” Huy Hien expressed.
9X confided that compared to when he was 18, he feels that he has changed and matured a lot in personality, thinking and outlook on life. For Huy Hien, what makes him feel most meaningful is not what achievements he has achieved, but what value he has brought to people and the community.
The opportunity to work and study in many countries helps Huy Hien expand his knowledge in the field of information technology. According to him, there is no absolute technological solution. Each country will have its own approach to each problem. The important thing is to apply flexibly and the solution must be comprehensive and sustainable.
Sharing about his future plans, Huy Hien hopes to support and be a bridge for Vietnamese businesses to develop more in the UK in particular and Europe in general.
