In addition, it is proposed to issue some new local specific policies in accordance with central regulations to support officials and civil servants who have to work far from home, such as policies on public housing, social housing, travel expense support, etc., to encourage officials and civil servants to feel secure in their work in the new conditions.

Propose that the Quang Tri provincial government (after the merger) has a policy to study and build a new administrative-political center with a suitable location, ensuring balance and harmony in terms of space; optimize the political leadership and state administrative management functions, create favorable conditions, and best serve people and businesses in accessing public services; at the same time, act as a center to create momentum for the development of satellite cities; ensure long-term, sustainable socio-economic development, in line with the trend of international integration.

The merger of Quang Binh and Quang Tri is a strategic step to create new development momentum, maximizing the advantages of the two provinces and the region.

The new Quang Tri province will have an area of about 12,700 km2 , a population of about 1.8 million people, and 78 commune-level administrative units (69 communes, 8 wards, and 1 special zone).
