Hai Phong: 95% of businesses in industrial parks resumed operations on September 10

According to the Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board, about 95% of enterprises in industrial parks (IPs) have basically overcome damage and breakdowns to put factories into normal production on September 10.

The Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board has just inspected a number of foreign-invested enterprises to prepare for resumption of operations after the impact of storm No. 3.

Mr. Le Trung Kien, Head of Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board, also led DEEP C Industrial Park Complex to visit, encourage and share with businesses in the Industrial Park.

After visiting some enterprises in DEEP C Industrial Park and sharing about the damage with enterprises affected by storm No. 3, Mr. Le Trung Kien, Head of Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board, said that the leaders of Hai Phong city and the Management Board always create all conditions to support enterprises in industrial parks to overcome the consequences as quickly as possible, stabilize production and business, and ensure that the supply chain in Hai Phong in the global market is always smooth.

Storm No. 3 causes damage to businesses in DEEP C Industrial Park

If the enterprise has any difficulties, please report them to the Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board for timely support in resolving matters within its authority. For matters within the authority of the City Party Committee and People's Committee, the Management Board will directly report to the City leaders to direct the relevant departments to support the enterprise as quickly as possible.

Previously, on the morning of September 9, 100% of businesses had been supplied with electricity, but businesses will proactively connect to electricity to ensure safety. Other conditions for production activities to resume smoothly, such as water and Internet, have also been basically resolved.

According to the Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board, the board has reviewed and counted the damage of enterprises and reported to the City People's Committee so that the Committee can promptly direct and support enterprises.

According to this report, in terms of general damage, all businesses in the industrial parks had trees broken and felled, with the highest damage reaching 90% and the lowest damage being 30%. Some areas were flooded locally during the storm. Many businesses had their roofs blown off, some walls were torn and collapsed, gates, fences, signs, camera systems, garages, and sliding metal doors were overturned, water flooded into the factory, but no human damage was recorded. Currently, businesses and industrial parks are urgently dealing with the problem.

According to the reporter at Nam Cau Kien Industrial Park, the initial damage recorded was basically broken trees, the factories in the Industrial Park only suffered local damage, but not much, not affecting production activities too much. At most, after only 2 more days, the entire Industrial Park will be cleaned up, ensuring traffic in the Industrial Park is safe and normal.

According to Mr. Hoang Tuan Anh, General Director of Shinec Joint Stock Company - the investor of Nam Cau Kien Industrial Park, in the face of the complicated developments of storm No. 3, Nam Cau Kien Industrial Park has proactively deployed synchronous storm prevention measures to ensure absolute safety for people and property. The storm prevention steering committee of the Industrial Park Management Board has urgently issued documents directing and guiding storm prevention work. Therefore, after the storm, the damage recorded in the Industrial Park was not severe. Currently, the Company has sent officers and employees to each enterprise to record the consequences and work with investors in the Industrial Park to overcome the problem to soon stabilize production. It only took 2-3 days after the storm for enterprises in the Industrial Park to be able to resume normal production activities.

At DEEP C Industrial Park in Hai Phong, businesses operating in the industrial park are also gradually overcoming the problem, gradually stabilizing and returning to production. According to Mr. Bruno Jaspert, General Director of DEEP C Industrial Park Complex: “After Typhoon Yagi, companies and factories in the industrial park must both overcome the consequences and prepare for upcoming rains and storms to protect their goods. Step by step, we are trying to help and support businesses and hope that they can soon operate their factories normally.”

Enterprises in DEEP C Industrial Park are actively overcoming the consequences of storm No. 3.

Storm No. 3 has left many consequences affecting the lives of people in Hai Phong City.

According to the leader of Hai Phong Water Supply Joint Stock Company, up to now, all customers in the water supply service area of ​​the Company have had their water supply restored. The Company has been and is continuing to fix problems affecting water supply in some small areas due to broken water supply pipes caused by fallen trees, electric poles, etc., causing structures and equipment in the water supply system to collapse. Water supply is gradually stabilizing throughout the city. At some points at the end of the source, the pressure may be weak, this will be fixed in the next 1-2 days, water pressure will return to normal as before the storm.

As of the morning of September 10, the Company has restored operation of 7/7 factories in the mainland area including An Duong, Cau Nguyet, Vat Cach, Vinh Bao 1&2, Ngu Lao, Hung Dao water plants and 7/8 booster pumping stations (TBTA May To, Dong Hoa, Dong Hai, Cau Rao, Dong Quoc Binh, Do Son, Tan Duong). On September 9, the water supply output reached ~300,000 m3 compared to an average of about 250,000 m3 /day before the storm.

Cat Ba Island area, operated generator to supply water to Cat Ba town area on September 9 about 2,000 m3 (about 50% of normal demand), on September 10 will increase water supply capacity for town area and operate generator to supply water to Viet Hai commune. The island areas will be restored to production immediately after the power is restored.

According to statistics from Hai Phong Electricity Company Limited, by last evening (September 9), 6 inner-city districts of Hai Phong and some communes in An Duong and Thuy Nguyen districts had been restored to power. However, 405,255 customers in suburban communes were still without power.

Storm No. 3 hit Hai Phong, due to strong winds, combined with heavy rain, many trees fell on power lines and poles, causing 247 medium voltage power lines to have problems, 96 power lines were still out of power; 27 transformer stations were damaged, 365 medium voltage power poles were broken, fell, 81 poles were eroded, tilted; damaged 7,445 meters of medium voltage wire and 2,507 porcelain poles. The low voltage power grid had: 820 broken, fallen poles, 366 tilted poles; damaged 5,638 meters of power line, 2,406 meter boxes; affected 798,590 customers.

Hai Phong Electricity is mobilizing human resources to coordinate with construction contractors to fix the problem. Authorities are working to restore medium-voltage lines as soon as possible; it is expected that low-voltage lines will be repaired by September 12.
