The Standing Office of the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Quang Tri province said that heavy rain and strong winds that occurred on the evening of April 12 and early morning of April 13 caused about 932 hectares of rice in localities in the province to collapse, many of which were completely flattened.

The largest area of ​​fallen rice was recorded in Hai Lang district at 630 hectares. Meanwhile, in Trieu Phong district it was 198 hectares, Gio Linh district 84 hectares, Cam Lo district 20 hectares.

Previously, in early February 2025, the impact of the cold air increased, causing heavy rains, causing more than 3,963 hectares of newly sown rice in Quang Tri province to be flooded. Of which, Hai Lang district also suffered the most damage with 2,744 hectares. Data recorded in other localities include: Trieu Phong district was flooded with 500.8 hectares, Vinh Linh district 44 hectares, Gio Linh district 527 hectares, Cam Lo district 3 hectares and Dong Ha city 145 hectares.
