The Swiss government said on June 10 that 90 countries and organizations have registered to participate in a conference to pave the way for peace in Ukraine that Switzerland will host from June 15 to 16.
Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis said the conference is expected to discuss areas of broad international concern, such as nuclear and food security needs, freedom of navigation as well as humanitarian issues, such as prisoners of war.
Russia has not been invited to attend, but the Swiss government has said the meeting is aimed at “jointly defining a roadmap” for how both sides will participate in the future peace process.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, also confirmed the participation of the countries and expressed gratitude to the participants and stressed the importance of the conference in protecting international law and seeking peace.
Russia said earlier on June 4 that the upcoming Ukraine peace conference lacked clear goals and was a complete “waste of time” without its participation, adding that the meeting’s lack of results was the reason many countries were absent.
