830 candidates participated in the Ho Chi Minh City National University's Capacity Assessment Exam, Round 1

On the morning of March 30, Ho Chi Minh City National University (VNU-HCM) coordinated with Bac Lieu University to organize the first round of the Competency Assessment (CAE) exam in 2025. Cluster 54 located at Bac Lieu University had 830 candidates taking the exam.

Candidates participating in the 1st round of the National High School Graduation Exam of VNU-HCM in 2025 are preparing to enter the exam room.

2025 is the 8th year that VNU-HCM has organized the competency assessment exam. Compared to previous years, the first round of this year's exam has a record high number of candidates registering for the exam. Accordingly, 130,647 candidates have registered, of which 128,331 candidates have completed the exam procedures - the highest ever. Ho Chi Minh City has many exam locations with 51,074 candidates and is also the locality with the most students registering for the exam (40,452 students); the exam cluster in Bac Lieu alone has 830 candidates registered for the exam.

In 2025, the structure of the National High School Exam has been adjusted to match the 2018 general education program. The National High School Exam consists of 120 multiple-choice objective questions with 150 minutes to complete and is conducted on paper. The exam still has 3 parts. Part 1: Language use (Vietnamese, English) only increases the number of questions from 40 to 60. Part 2: The exam structure in 2024 is mathematics - logic - data analysis with 30 questions, while in 2025 it will only be mathematics with 30 questions.

The biggest adjustment is in part 3. The structure of the 2024 exam is to solve problems in the fields of chemistry, physics, biology, geography, history with 50 questions, while the structure of the 2025 exam is scientific thinking with logical content - data analysis, scientific reasoning (30 questions). It is known that this year's exam is to provide context and theory for candidates to solve problems. The exam designed in this direction will be suitable for all students studying the 2018 general education program.

According to the records, many candidates arrived at the examination cluster very early to see the diagram, the location of the examination room, check their personal information as well as some regulations for candidates… before “G-hour”. Most of the candidates were very excited and confident because they had prepared their knowledge and abilities well before entering this exam.
