(CLO) On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024), on the morning of October 25 in Hanoi, the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations in coordination with the Literature and Arts Times organized the contest "Learning about 80 years of glorious tradition of the heroic Vietnam People's Army" with the theme "Forever echoes the military march".
In his opening speech, journalist Hoang Du, Editor-in-Chief of the Literature and Arts Times and Head of the Organizing Committee, said that the contest was organized to arouse patriotism and national pride, contributing to widely promoting the precious historical values of the Vietnam People's Army. At the same time, it aroused the interest and social responsibility of artists and writers; and aroused the spirit of literary and artistic creativity on the subject of armed forces and revolutionary war.
Journalist Hoang Du, Editor-in-Chief of Literature and Arts Times, Head of the contest's Organizing Committee, gave the opening speech.
The contest mobilizes artists, readers nationwide, and overseas Vietnamese to participate, collect documents and images to learn about the founding context, the process of building and growing up, and the glorious traditions of the heroic Vietnam People's Army, especially the achievements of literature and art on the theme of armed forces and revolutionary war.
Thereby, creating an academic and creative playground, encouraging participants to research, learn and demonstrate their knowledge about the history of the formation and development of the Vietnam People's Army over the past 80 years; honoring the feats and contributions of the Vietnam People's Army in the resistance wars, building and defending the Fatherland; heroic stories, typical examples of soldiers through the ages; the development of the Army in the modern era and the important role of the Army in maintaining peace and national security.
"The Organizing Committee hopes to receive enthusiastic participation from all walks of life, and to contribute practical work to further educate and disseminate the nation's precious historical traditions," Mr. Hoang Du emphasized.

The organizers added that the contest is open to all Vietnamese citizens, and artists from the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations are encouraged to participate.
There are 2 ways to receive the exam: Submit directly or by post at the address: Literature and Arts Times Editorial Office, Building B, 2nd Floor, Vietnam National Institute of Culture and Arts, 32 Hao Nam, O Cho Dua Ward, Dong Da District, Hanoi City; Or via email to the email address: [email protected].
The exam consists of 09 main questions and 01 sub-question. The exam format is the answer to the questions, typed or handwritten, with accompanying documentary images, illustrations, page numbers, clearly stating references and bound into a book.
The award ceremony is expected to take place on December 20, 2024 in Hanoi.
The Organizing Committee will award 01 Special Prize; 01 First Prize; 02 Second Prizes: 03 Third Prizes; 10 Encouragement Prizes along with the following prizes: Most impressive presentation; Collective unit with the most participants; Unit with the most outstanding form of participation in the contest; Oldest person; Oldest veteran; Youngest person; Foreigner in Vietnam participating in the contest; Armed Forces unit with the most participants. |
