On the morning of April 21, in Hanoi, the 75th Anniversary of the Founding of the Vietnam Journalists Association (April 21, 1950 - April 21, 2025) and the 2025 National Conference of the Vietnam Journalists Association took place.

Attending the ceremony were comrade Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, Party Secretary - President of the Vietnam Journalists Association; Vice Presidents of the Vietnam Journalists Association, veteran journalists, and former leaders of the Vietnam Journalists Association through the periods.
Attending and congratulating the Anniversary were representatives of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission; the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; representatives of leaders of several provinces and cities; leaders of the Journalists Association at all levels nationwide, leaders of central and local press agencies; more than 500 delegates representing nearly 27,000 journalist members nationwide.
At the ceremony, delegates reviewed the 75-year journey of loyalty and creativity of the Vietnamese revolutionary press team - the pioneers on the ideological and cultural front, vividly depicted in the documentary: "A revolutionary team - A glorious mission" produced by the Vietnam Press Museum.
The work records historical moments from the early days of the association's establishment to the tireless contributions of the country's press to the cause of national construction and defense.
In his opening speech, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association Le Quoc Minh emphasized: 75 years ago, in Roong Khoa hamlet, Diem Mac commune, Dinh Hoa district, Thai Nguyen province, for the first time under the direction of the Party and Uncle Ho, generations of journalists united and gathered under an organization with the personality and mettle of journalists - the Association of Vietnamese Journalists (the predecessor of the Vietnam Journalists Association).

According to comrade Le Quoc Minh, the establishment of the Association demonstrated the solidarity and unity in using the power of ideals and the dedication of journalists through their sharp pens, fighting alongside the Party in the struggle for independence, freedom and national unification.
During its 75-year history, the Vietnam Journalists Association has promoted its role as a political-social-professional organization of journalists, innovated its methods of operation, and met the requirements of the new situation: being the voice of the people, a forum for society, actively participating in social supervision and criticism, contributing to building a clean and strong Party and political system.
The President of the Vietnam Journalists Association said that in 2024, the Vietnam Journalists Association had many achievements in building and developing the association.
The Association always pays attention to protecting the legitimate rights and interests of its members; closely coordinates with press management and direction agencies, proactively proposes, recommends and participates in the development of mechanisms and policies related to press activities.
With society, the Association has had many community-oriented activities, demonstrating the social responsibility of Vietnamese journalists such as: successfully organizing the National Press Forum, the forum gathered many experts and leaders of leading press agencies to discuss urgent issues of Vietnamese journalism, thereby proposing many new mechanisms and policies for the sustainable development of journalism.
In particular, the Vietnam Journalists Association inaugurated and handed over the restoration project of the Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School National Historical Site. The event has profound meaning, expressing gratitude to previous generations of journalists.
The Association has had many community-oriented activities, demonstrating the social responsibility of Vietnamese journalists.
The President of the Vietnam Journalists Association emphasized: Entering a new era - the era of national growth, the regional and world context with the rapid development of science and technology poses countless opportunities and decisive challenges.
The Vietnam Journalists Association continues to promote its glorious tradition, constantly innovate, enhance its role and position, and is worthy of being a trusted political-social-professional organization, a "common home" for journalists nationwide.

In his welcoming speech, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Phan Xuan Thuy affirmed: Along with the continuous growth of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press in general, the Vietnam Journalists Association is always loyal to its purpose and objectives of representing the ownership, aspirations and legitimate interests of Vietnamese journalists, contributing to building the Vietnamese press to truly be the voice of the Party, the State and the forum of the people.
Comrade Phan Xuan Thuy emphasized: 2025 is a particularly important year for the revolutionary cause of our country and people, also the year to summarize the Resolution of the 11th Congress of the Vietnam Journalists Association for the 2020-2025 term, and especially the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day.
To look forward to the 14th National Party Congress, to prepare for the 12th National Congress of the Vietnam Journalists Association for the 2025-2030 term, the Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission suggested: It is necessary to reposition the role and responsibility of the press and the Vietnam Journalists Association in the new era in accordance with the Party's orientation and viewpoints, which is "building a professional, humane, modern press, publishing, and media on a digital platform".
Continue to further deepen the position, role, functions, tasks, principles and purposes of the association in developing the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press such as: enhancing social responsibility and professional ethics of journalists; protecting the legitimate rights and interests of members; participating in the development of policies and laws on the press; expanding cooperation and enhancing international status.
The Vietnam Journalists Association needs to promptly make recommendations to the Party, State and Government on policies and mechanisms to support press development; propose solutions to increase investment resources for the development of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press; develop sustainable press economic models; and continue to train journalists with new skills to meet the requirements of modern journalism.
Continuing the program, delegates attended the National Conference of the Vietnam Journalists Association.
