In order to practically celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-China diplomatic relations and the "Vietnam-China Humanitarian Exchange Year," from April 18-20 in Beijing, representatives of the Vietnamese Community in China organized the fashion show "Vietnamese Ao Dai - Connecting Heritage."
According to the Organizing Committee, the activity aims to contribute to honoring the value of Vietnamese Ao Dai in life, culture and society; at the same time, arouse love, pride and responsibility to preserve and promote the heritage value of Ao Dai.
Through the Ao Dai, we promote the image, culture, country and people of Vietnam, so that the Ao Dai culture becomes increasingly attached and spreads in the spiritual life of Vietnamese people and international friends.
According to Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Loan, representative of the Vietnamese Community in China, mentioning the beauty of Vietnamese people is mentioning the beauty of the ao dai - the national spirit and quintessence of the nation. The ao dai has a long history of development, always accompanying and closely associated with the lives of Vietnamese people. Throughout history, the ao dai has been preserved and strongly developed, it is the crystallization of the intelligence and creative labor of the Vietnamese people, highlighting the gentle, elegant beauty and spirit of the Vietnamese people. Each needle and thread on the ao dai not only depicts the story of Vietnamese history and culture, but also contains the spirit of "When drinking water, remember its source" - a beauty honored as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage.
In the warm spring atmosphere, with flowers blooming, today's space is even more meaningful as the event is held for the first time in Beijing, at the foot of the Great Wall. The combination of Vietnamese Ao Dai and Chinese landscape is not only an artistic performance, but also a desire to send the message: "Cultural exchange has no borders."
Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Loan said that through the attractive performances of traditional Vietnamese Ao Dai, unique music and dance performances, and especially the group activities of visiting and exchanging at the Great Wall, the Vietnamese community in China is contributing their efforts to the new chapter of close friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and China. Continuing the story of the intersection between tradition and modernity, it is a solid bridge for the friendship between Vietnam and China.
Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Loan emphasized: “This is not just a ceremony, this is also a program demonstrating the solidarity of businesses, overseas Vietnamese students, and overseas Vietnamese in China, connecting the feelings of compatriots with their homeland, with the same motto: No matter where we are, we are always in harmony in our hearts!”

Ms. Doan Thi Quynh, an overseas Vietnamese in Beijing, shared: “Although I have lived in China for many years, this is the first time I have witnessed a Vietnamese Ao Dai show held in Beijing. I am very happy and proud that the Vietnamese Ao Dai tradition has been brought to many places in the world , especially China. I hope that after this show, there will be many more times organized on a larger and more magnificent scale in Beijing, as well as other localities in China, thereby being able to promote more widely, and let more international friends know more about the Vietnamese Ao Dai culture."
Mr. Han, a Chinese fashion designer who attended the program, shared: “I am very honored to attend the Ao Dai festival today. Vietnamese Ao Dai is very beautiful, meticulously designed, the color scheme is very beautiful and the layout of today's ceremony is very suitable. Besides, this is the traditional cultural beauty of Vietnam, you need to join hands to preserve and promote it, so that more foreigners like us can know about it and admire your unique Ao Dai."
At the show, the Organizing Committee introduced unique Ao Dai collections from leading designers such as designer Tuan Sanh, the Ao Ngu Than collection of the Dinh Lang Viet Club, designer Han Phuong...
Each design and the Ao Dai is a delicate combination of traditional silk material with unique design ideas and skilled stitching of Ao Dai artisans, reflecting the ancient culture bearing the mark of time while still bringing a breath of fresh air, conveying a new message of Vietnam in the era of development./.
