The objective of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) is to promote cultural relations with various countries and to promote global understanding of Indian culture.

Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre (SVCC), Embassy of India in Hanoi organized the 75th Anniversary Celebration of ICCR on April 9 at the Embassy premises, with the participation of Vietnamese academics, students and the Indian community in Vietnam.
As an organization under the Government of India, ICCR operates through Indian Cultural Centers around the world, including the SVCC in Hanoi through Indian cultural experts, cultural exchange activities, educational scholarships, etc.
Speaking at the event, Indian Ambassador to Vietnam Sandeep Arya Emphasizing the importance of people-to-people exchanges in the India-Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and appreciating the role of SVCC Hanoi in enhancing cultural exchanges and deepening people-to-people ties between the two countries. Several elements such as ICCR scholarships, culture, Indian art classes, language and yoga, scholar exchange activities, translation, arts and crafts were shared to further promote culture in Vietnam.
The celebration included activities such as Yoga performances, Indian music and dance, sharing of experiences of Vietnamese students in India, and introduction of ICCR scholarships for Vietnamese students registering in April-May 2024 for the academic session starting from next August.
