734 works attend the National Television Festival in Binh Dinh

The National Television Festival is a traditional event organized by Vietnam Television every two years. This is an opportunity for television professionals to meet, exchange television programs, learn and improve their skills; and select the best television programs during the festival.

Speaking at a press conference to inform about the festival taking place on the afternoon of March 13 in Hanoi , Meritorious Artist Do Thanh Hai, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Television, said that the 42nd National Television Festival has profound significance for the Vietnam Television industry as it is held in a year with many important milestones: 55 years of the first television program broadcast; 100 years of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day; 50 years of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification; 80 years of the founding of the country... In particular, this is also an event in a series of activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Binh Dinh Liberation Day (March 31, 1975 - March 31, 2025).

According to Meritorious Artist Do Thanh Hai, this festival has the participation of many quality works from television units across the country, with many types, especially works applying new technology, suitable for multi-platform broadcasting. Many works with the breath of current life of the country at this time appeared, creating excitement and attraction for the festival.

According to the Organizing Committee, the new point of this festival is the change in the genre and number of entries. Among the 734 entries, there are 26 programs for children, 97 documentaries, 140 reports, 148 short reports, 46 science and education programs, 46 dialogue and discussion programs, 52 ethnic minority language television programs, 57 music and dance programs, 20 stage works, 34 television dramas and 66 video works on digital platforms.

Along with judges working in the television industry, the festival also has many artists loved by the public such as People's Artist Tan Minh, People's Artist My Uyen, People's Artist Nguyen Hoai Hue, Meritorious Artist Bui Nhu Lai, musician Giang Son, actress Ngoc Lan...

Besides the competition of works, the 42nd National Television Festival has many attractive activities such as: Exhibition of "Television Technology", photo exhibition with the theme "People working in television", visiting famous landscapes of Binh Dinh...

Notably, there are two thematic seminars with content closely following the practical development needs of the Television industry and aiming at applying AI in activities: "Skills of television journalists in the digital environment" and "Data mining and application of artificial intelligence to serve digital transformation for television stations".

Within the framework of the festival, the Organizing Committee also carried out a number of sideline activities in Binh Dinh province such as free screening to help detect congenital heart disease early for children under 18 years old; inaugurating and handing over 10 houses, 3 schools and starting construction of 2 bridges with a total value of nearly 4 billion VND; giving away televisions and savings books to poor households and giving scholarships to students in difficult circumstances...

The festival's opening ceremony will take place at 6 p.m. on March 19, live on VTV's digital platform and BTV channel of Binh Dinh Radio and Television. The closing ceremony and award ceremony will be broadcast live at 8:10 p.m. on March 22 on VTV1. The organizers promise that, in addition to honoring works and television workers, these will also be special art programs with the participation of many famous artists.
