On the morning of November 15, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism organized the First Festival of Typical Quan Ho Villages in Bac Ninh Province in 2024.

The event is part of a series of activities celebrating the 15th anniversary of Bac Ninh Quan Ho folk songs being recognized by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity.
The Festival was attended by more than 700 Lien Anh and Lien Chi singers from 24 typical Quan Ho villages, selected from 150 Quan Ho villages in the province.
Each Quan Ho village practices participating in a program including: 1 performance of ancient Quan Ho singing without accompaniment, duet singing (male or female duo); 1 solo performance and 1 group singing performance.
The content is songs with new lyrics based on Bac Ninh Quan Ho folk songs; songs with Bac Ninh Quan Ho folk songs have content praising the Party, beloved Uncle Ho; praising the achievements in the cause of building, innovating and developing the homeland.
Held for the first time, the Festival aims to evaluate the quality and effectiveness of Quan Ho villages in contributing to the preservation and dissemination of Bac Ninh Quan Ho folk songs in recent times.

This is also an opportunity for the Lien Anh and Lien Chi from Quan Ho villages in the province to meet, exchange, discuss and learn experiences about some initial steps in practicing Bac Ninh Quan Ho folk song heritage in the community; linking Bac Ninh Quan Ho folk songs with traditional cultural activities, contributing to spreading and promoting the value of Bac Ninh Quan Ho folk songs.
Quan Ho singing is a unique cultural feature that pervades the festivals of Kinh Bac region, becoming a daily activity in the lives of the people, spreading widely throughout the villages, into every hamlet and street corner.
On September 30, 2009, Quan Ho Bac Ninh was recognized by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity.
Over the past 15 years, Bac Ninh has well implemented the contents of Vietnam's commitment to UNESCO on preserving Quan Ho folk songs, such as teaching, restoring traditional performance spaces, promoting and promoting to the world; investing in facilities... to preserve, protect and continue to promote the unique value of Bac Ninh Quan Ho folk song heritage.
To date, Bac Ninh is the only province in the country that has a monthly subsidy policy for Quan Ho folk artists. Bac Ninh Quan Ho has spread to all regions of the country, becoming an attractive cultural symbol, contributing positively to the process of cultural integration with the world.
