At the conference, Vietnamese students and more than 130 young talents from 18 countries, government leaders, technology experts, and academy representatives discussed and shared to enhance cooperation, innovation, and digital development towards a more connected, digitalized, and intelligent future.
6 Vietnamese students were selected from nearly 400 technology students who registered for the preliminary round of the program "Seeds for the Future 2024" season 9, co-organized by Huawei Vietnam, Vietnam Digital Communications Association (VDCA) and Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT).
After the conference, Vietnamese students and nearly 130 other international students visited Huawei campuses in Shenzhen and Dongguan, participated in digital classes, and studied technology and ICT (information and communications technology) applications.
All will also participate in the regional semi-finals of the Tech4Good competition to find the two winning teams to advance to the 2025 global finals in China and receive sponsorship opportunities, participate in an experience trip to China as well as participate in “1:1” discussions with Huawei leaders.
The Asia-Pacific Digital Talent Summit is co-organized by the ASEAN Foundation, the ASEAN Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) and Huawei.
Attending the event were the ASEAN Secretary General, the ASEAN Foundation Chairman, the SEAMEO Secretariat Director, the Cambodian Minister of Posts and Telecommunications, the Brunei Minister of Education, the Vice President of the Thai AI Association, and many other senior officials.
Digital talent drives ASEAN regional competitiveness
Speaking at the conference, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, Secretary General of ASEAN, highlighted the role of digital talent in promoting growth and competitiveness of the region compared to the world, as well as highly appreciated the public-private partnership between Huawei and the ASEAN Foundation in improving digital skills for the younger generation.
He also expressed: “I believe that Huawei will make more meaningful contributions to unleashing the region's digital potential, driving innovation towards a fully digital and sustainable future.
In response, ASEAN is actively finalizing policies to facilitate the flow of digital talent among member countries, recognize educational qualifications and encourage training cooperation.”
