In the first 5 months of 2023, the number of international visitors to our country is estimated at nearly 4.6 million - 12.6 times higher than the same period last year, but still only 63% compared to the same period in 2019 - the year before the Covid-19 pandemic.

Of the total of nearly 4.6 million international visitors to Vietnam in the past 5 months, visitors arriving by air accounted for 88%; by road accounted for 10.9%; by sea accounted for 1.1%...

Also according to the General Statistics Office, in the past 5 months, revenue from accommodation and food services increased by 22.1%; tourism and travel increased by 89.4% compared to the same period last year due to many holidays in the month.

Vietnam tourism has been honored by many foreign press and media agencies, contributing to increasing the attractiveness of Vietnam's destinations on the international tourism map. In particular, Cat Ba (Hai Phong) ranked 2nd in the list of 10 most spectacular beaches in Asia recently proposed by Microsoft's tourism website. Meanwhile, Ninh Binh was proposed by the famous tourism website The Travel (Canada) as one of the 10 best family vacation destinations in the world in 2023.

The famous international travel website Lonely Planet has just named Vietnam's Thong Nhat Railway (North-South Railway) in the first place among the 9 most spectacular train journeys in the world, departing from the capital Hanoi and ending in Ho Chi Minh City with a distance of about 1,730km. The culinary website TasteAtlas also honored 2 Vietnamese dishes, spring rolls and fresh spring rolls, in the list of the 50 most attractive snacks in the world...

Notably, in May 2023, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed and issued Resolution No. 82/NQ-CP of the Government on key tasks and solutions to accelerate recovery and accelerate effective and sustainable tourism development.

The Resolution sets out many groups of solutions to achieve the goal of developing tourism into a truly spearhead economic sector, among the top 30 countries with the world's leading tourism competitiveness according to the motto "Unique products - Professional services - Convenient and simple procedures - Competitive prices - Clean and beautiful environment - Safe, civilized and friendly destinations"... Among these are groups of solutions on product development and communication, promotion and advertising of tourism.
