The HNX-Index increased by 15.74 points, equivalent to 8.17%, to 208.32 points, with a transaction value of more than VND 775 billion.
Five highly traded stocks of Hai Duong enterprises, including AAA (An Phat Xanh Plastic), APH (An Phat Holdings), PPC (Pha Lai Thermal Power), C69 (Construction 1369), AAV (AAV Group, formerly known as Viet Tien Son Real Estate) had a ceiling price increase session after a "gloomy" price decrease session 2 days ago.
At the trading session on April 10, AAA had a reference price of VND 6,410/share, the opening price was equal to the closing price at VND 6,850/share, equal to the ceiling price (the highest price that investors can buy or sell during the trading session, shown in purple).
APH has a reference price of VND 5,910/share, opening and closing prices of the trading session are both at VND 6,320/share. PPC has a reference price of VND 10,750/share, opening and closing prices of the trading session are both at VND 11,500/share. C69 has a reference price of VND 5,500/share, opening price of the trading session is VND 5,700/share, closing price of VND 6,000/share. AAV has a reference price of VND 5,400/share, opening price is VND 5,700/share, closing price is VND 5,900/share.
All 5 of the above stocks had prices at the closing time of the trading session equal to the ceiling price.
In related developments, at 3:30 p.m. on April 10, the price of SJC gold bars in Hai Duong market fluctuated around VND 100.9 million/tael for buying and VND 103.9 million/tael for selling, an increase of VND 1.1 million/tael for buying and VND 2 million/tael for selling compared to the beginning of the morning session of the same day.
After US President Donald Trump announced to reduce import tax to 10% and suspend reciprocal tax for 90 days for more than 75 countries and territories, Asian stock markets in general and Vietnam in particular recorded an upturn right from the opening of the trading session. This shows the optimistic sentiment on the stock exchanges, reflecting investors' expectations for a period of stability, at least in the short term.
