A proper diet will bring many benefits to the body. On the contrary, if there are many unhealthy foods on the table, toxins will accumulate in the body over time, easily causing illness.
Uncontrolled eating and eating a lot of unhealthy foods can easily cause the body to accumulate toxins. Therefore, many people experience worsening skin conditions, acne, mouth ulcers, and stomach pain.
While there is no single food that can completely rid your body of toxins, there are foods that will aid in the detoxification process of certain organs in your body.
Huang Shuhui, a nutritionist at Taipei Post Office Hospital (Taiwan), shares five foods you can add to your diet to help your body eliminate toxins better.
Sweet potatoes and pumpkin
Vegetables and fruits are rich in fiber, with sweet potatoes and pumpkins being particularly recommended. Yellow foods are rich in vitamin A and carotene.
Fiber can promote intestinal motility and detoxification. Vitamin A and carotene have the function of detoxifying the liver. In addition, sweet potatoes and pumpkins are foods rich in potassium, which helps promote kidney detoxification, so they are known as foods that enhance liver, kidney and intestinal detoxification.
Seaweed
Seaweed is rich in soluble fiber, which is beneficial for absorbing harmful substances in the intestines, supplementing beneficial bacteria for the digestive system, helping to reduce blood cholesterol, good for the heart.
In addition, seaweed contains substances with antioxidant, anti-allergic, and anti-viral properties, which help strengthen your body's immune system.
Garlic
Allicin and sulfur in garlic help support the body's detoxification process. Eating foods rich in sulfur can increase the body's glutathione levels. Glutathione is an antioxidant that participates in the body's natural detoxification process, and allicin also helps support liver health.
Green bean
Green beans are cool and can help detoxify toxins such as alcohol poisoning, arsenic poisoning, lead poisoning, and promote normal metabolism in the body.
