5 times US Presidents visited Vietnam: One played the monochord, the other ate bun cha

Since the two countries normalized relations in 1995, there have been a total of five visits by four US Presidents to Vietnam. Each visit has left its mark on the relationship between the two countries.
To date, there have been 4 US Presidents who have visited Vietnam 5 times. The current US Presidents who have visited Vietnam include: President Bill Clinton (November 2000), President George W. Bush (November 2006), President Barack Obama (May 2016), President Donald Trump (November 2017 and February 2019). Mr. Joe Biden will be the 5th US President to visit Vietnam. This is the first time a US President has accepted the invitation of the head of the Communist Party of Vietnam - General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. In November 2000, US President Bill Clinton paid an official visit to Vietnam. He was the first US President to visit Vietnam, 25 years after the end of the war.
