This morning, May 6, information from Nguyen Trai Secondary School (Vinh Linh district) said that the school's board of directors has submitted a report and a request for superiors to commend and reward 5 students who found a handbag containing gold rings and cash and went to the police to return it to the owner.

Specifically, on the evening of May 4, 3 students, Nguyen Huu Dat, class 8A; Nguyen Huyen Trang and Tran Ha Thao Nhi, class 8C, Nguyen Trai Secondary School, while playing in the Ho Xa Town Park area, picked up a bag containing many valuable assets. Immediately after that, the students reported to their homeroom teacher and were instructed to go to the Ho Xa Town Police Station to find the owner to return it.
At the police station, a check inside the bag revealed 4 rings, each weighing about 1 tael of gold, worth 7.2 million VND; 5 million VND in cash and a smartphone worth about 5 million VND. The total value of the assets was about 17.2 million VND.
Through verification, Ho Xa Town Police found the person who lost the handbag was Ms. Nguyen Thi Cuc, residing in Huu Nghi Quarter, Ho Xa Town. The unit then contacted Ms. Cuc to get her property back.

Previously, on March 21, 2024, two students, Tran Ngoc Bao Anh, class 6D and Nguyen Thi Bao Trang, class 6A, Nguyen Trai Secondary School, also asked the police for help to find and return to Mr. Nguyen Van Quang, a cadastral officer of Vinh Thai commune, Vinh Linh district, two plastic bags containing 15 million VND that they picked up on their way home from school.
Principal of Nguyen Trai Secondary School Hoang Quoc Hung said that these are beautiful actions that need to be commended and rewarded to educate morality as well as spread the model of "Good people, good deeds" among students.
