46 pole positions in the Monsoon - Thanh My Power Line in natural forests need to be converted

Leaders of Quang Nam province and EVN General Director have just inspected the construction site of the 500 kV Monsoon - Thanh My Transmission Line Project and the project to expand the bypass and renovate the 500 kV Thanh My Substation.

The 500 kV Monsoon - Thanh My Transmission Line Project in Vietnam is invested by Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN), assigned to the Power Project Management Board (PMU) 2 for management and operation.

The power line is over 44 km long, passing through 4 communes (La Dee, Cha Val, Ta Po and Ta Bhinh) of Nam Giang district, Quang Nam province, with 90 pier foundation locations and 26 anchorages.

Leaders of EVN and Quang Nam province inspect the construction site of the 500kV MonSoon - Thanh My transmission line project in Vietnam.

Up to now, with the support of the People's Committee of Quang Nam province and related departments, branches and localities, the project has handed over the site for 34/35 locations outside natural forests out of a total of 90 column foundation locations of the entire project.

Regarding the route corridor, it is expected to complete the handover of the site in March 2024 according to the direction of the People's Committee of Quang Nam province.

Currently, contractors have dug foundations at 27/90 locations, cast foundations at 24/90 locations; completed erection of 5/90 column locations; completed construction of 58/90 temporary roads, including 24/46 routes in natural forests and 34/44 routes outside natural forests.

According to plan, the project will be completed and energized in October 2024, but there are currently some difficulties and problems.

Contractors have not been able to deploy simultaneously on the entire route due to many factors.

Specifically, contractors have not been able to deploy simultaneously on the entire route because they have not completed the construction road opening, have not completed the correction of 12 temporary roads with large slopes, and have not completed the collection of forest trees at the foundation positions in natural forests...

At the Thanh My 500 kV Transformer Station expansion and renovation project (Ta B'Hing commune, Nam Giang district, Quang Nam province) invested by the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), the contractor is currently removing the vegetation layer of the station foundation, leveling the ground, constructing a number of concrete retaining walls, stone prisms; restoring existing power lines...

EVNNPT is determined to complete the 500 kV Thach My station project in July 2024.

Reporting to the working delegation of EVN and the People's Committee of Quang Nam province, the Power Project Management Board 2 and EVNNPT said they are urging contractors to increase human resources, materials, equipment... to speed up the project's progress.

Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, General Director of EVN, requested the Power Project Management Board 2, EVNNPT to closely coordinate with local authorities and relevant units to resolve existing difficulties and problems; request contractors to fully arrange human resources, equipment, materials, overtime, and urgent construction when the site is available, speed up the project progress to connect to the power grid as planned.

These are all projects of special importance and significance under the Energy Cooperation Agreement between the Governments of Vietnam and Laos, with the goal of importing electricity from Laos for the Vietnamese power system in general and Quang Nam province in particular.
