With the approval and support of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and other departments, the Dutch Consulate, the City Department of Transport and the Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam - Netherlands Friendship Association organized a bicycle parade "Around District 1" on the morning of April 8 with the participation of about 400 people, most of whom were Dutch businessmen and foreign guests.

Mr. Tran Trong Dung, Chairman of the Vietnam - Netherlands Friendship Association in Ho Chi Minh City, said that the Netherlands and Vietnam have a close relationship in many fields, currently cooperating in sustainable agriculture development, water management and green energy. The cycling event in the city center on the morning of April 8 was to promote interest in green development, sustainable mobility and transportation issues in the city.
The race starts in front of the City Theater.
Not only is it an exciting and engaging experience, connecting the cycling community, the event also aims to encourage people to pay attention to reducing carbon emissions, improving air quality and minimizing car accidents in the city. The Dutch Consulate ordered the production of hundreds of T-shirts made from recycled materials with 50% from coffee grounds and 50% from used PET for event participants, and mobilized two members to use bicycles to collect plastic waste every day to participate in the event...
The parade took place on a 4.5km route through the main streets in the center of District 1.
Previously, from April 5 to 7, the Dutch Consulate, together with the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport and the Dutch Cycling Embassy, organized seminars on bicycles, discussing with government representatives, experts and university students about promoting the use of bicycles as a means of transport, developing infrastructure and bicycle paths in the city.
