In the early morning of April 23, Barca won 1-0 against Mallorca in round 33 of La Liga. After the match, coach Hansi Flick's team set a remarkable record for the number of shots.

Specifically, during the 90 minutes of play, Barca players launched a total of 40 shots towards the opponent's goal.

According to statistics, this is the highest number of shots a team has achieved in a La Liga match in the past 15 years.

Sofascore also pointed out that Barca is the first team in the top 5 European national championships to achieve this feat in the past 3 years.

Therefore, the expected goals (xG) of the "Catalan giant" in this match is also very high, up to 3.41. In contrast, Mallorca only had 4 shots, 10 times less than their opponent.

However, the quality of the finishing was not high as the home team's strikers were too hasty, resulting in only 1 goal thanks to Dani Olmo, and only 13/40 shots were on target.

Notably, coach Hansi Flick also did not have the support of his main striker Robert Lewandowski. He also left the player in good form, Raphinha, on the bench. The duo Ansu Fati and Ferran Torres were trusted to play from the start but disappointed Barca fans.

Three points against Mallorca helped Barca temporarily widen the gap with the second-placed Real Madrid to 7 points. However, Real Madrid have not played in round 33 of La Liga and they will have an away match at Getafe in the early morning of April 24.
