According to Dr. Nguyen Thuy Ngan - Vietnam Institute for Research and Development of Traditional Medicine, passion fruit is a good source of antioxidants, including vitamin A, vitamin C, polyphenols, beta-cryptoxanthin and carotenoids, as well as other minerals.

Health benefits of passion fruit include:

- Good source of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds : According to studies, the nutritional benefits of passion fruit include fighting free radical damage and oxidative stress due to the presence of active ingredients such as carotenoids and flavonoid polyphenols.

Passion fruit seeds contain polyphenols, including one called piceatannol, which has been linked to protection against insulin resistance in overweight adults.

- Rich in fiber : Passion fruit is rich in fiber, especially pectin, and low in sugar compared to other fruits. Although it has a mild sweet taste, it can help provide nutrients without increasing blood sugar levels.
