Four hydroelectric lakes are near dead water level: Thac Ba, Ban Ve, Thac Mo and Dong Nai 3.
On June 17, the Department of Industrial Safety Techniques and Environment sent a report to the Minister of Industry and Trade on the operation of hydroelectric reservoirs.
In addition to the 4 hydroelectric reservoirs near the dead water level mentioned above, there are some reservoirs with low water levels such as: Son La, Hua Na; some hydroelectric plants are generating electricity at a moderate rate with low flow, water level, and capacity: Son La, Huoi Quang, Ban Chat, Thac Ba, Tuyen Quang, Hua Na, Thac Mo, Dong Nai 3.
According to the report of the Department of Industrial Safety and Environment, today the water flow to hydroelectric reservoirs is low. The South Central Coast region has increased slightly compared to yesterday. The water level of hydroelectric reservoirs in the North and North Central regions has also increased slightly; The water level in the Southeast region has fluctuated slightly, still at a low level; The water level of the reservoirs in the South Central Coast and Central Highlands regions has decreased slightly, within the minimum water level range according to the regulations of the operating procedure.
The amount of water flowing into the reservoir is mainly to regulate the water to ensure the minimum flow, hydroelectric plants operate to generate electricity based on the water flow, plants in the Northern and North Central regions generate electricity at a moderate rate with low flow, water level, and capacity to ensure the safety of the generators during operation, it is difficult to meet the electricity generation according to the reservoir operation process at this time and the forecast of low water flow into the reservoirs in the coming time.
It is forecasted that in the next 24 hours, water flow to lakes in the Northern, North Central, and South Central Coast regions will decrease slightly, while in the Southeast and Central Highlands regions it will increase slightly.
In another development, Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) forecasts that in the coming week (June 17-24), it will continue to reduce power until water flows to hydroelectric reservoirs. However, in the coming time, water flow to hydroelectric reservoirs will not improve much, and there is no information about flooding in the northern reservoirs.
