On the afternoon of September 7, the 3rd Political Contest on Protecting the Party's Ideological Foundation, co-organized by the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, the Central Propaganda Department, the Central Theoretical Council, the Communist Magazine, Nhan Dan Newspaper, Vietnam Television and the Vietnam Journalists Association, held a meeting of the Jury and began marking the contest.
The contest aims to contribute to continuing to promote the implementation of Resolution No. 35-NQ/TW, dated October 22, 2018 of the 12th Politburo on "Strengthening the protection of the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against erroneous and hostile views in the new situation"; at the same time, effectively implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress.

According to the announcement of the Organizing Committee, there were 301,365 entries nationwide (nearly 3 times more than the second time in 2022). Provinces, cities, ministries and branches nationwide selected and sent 11,856 entries to the Central Government. The Organizing Committee selected 3,155 entries of various types for the preliminary round.
From the results, the Organizing Committee will award prizes according to 3 types of entries: Magazine articles, newspaper articles and radio/television/video clips.
Each category includes: 1 Special prize, 3 A prizes, 5 B prizes, 7 C prizes, 10 Encouragement prizes; at the same time, 15 "Excellent Collective" prizes will be awarded to agencies, organizations, and localities that have organized and implemented the contest extensively and creatively at the grassroots level, effectively serving the implementation of Resolution No. 35-NQ/TW of the 12th Politburo at the locality, agency, and unit; have many products participating in the contest with good quality, of which at least one work won a B prize or higher.
In addition to the official prize, the Organizing Committee of the Contest awarded 15 Promising prizes to the entries of authors/groups of authors who are union members, youth, and students who made it to the final round and had the highest score among the entries of union members, youth, and students.
The announcement and award ceremony of the Contest will be held in mid-October 2023 on the occasion of the 5-year review of the implementation of Resolution No. 35-NQ/TW, dated October 22, 2018 of the 12th Politburo on "Strengthening the protection of the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against erroneous and hostile views in the new situation".
